A Drop of Golden Sun...

As fussy gals are prone at some point in their lives, Miss Pretty Pink (last name Dell) had decided to become rather difficult. She was making my life miserable with all of her stalling and freezing. (Yes, I do believe my former cell phone and Miss PP were related.) Fussy girls are expendable. We kicked Miss Pretty Pink in the boo-tay and showed her out the back door.

Enter Elliott. Elliott's last name is Macintosh. He's a Pro, I tell you...and also kinda dorky, kinda cute, but also a little flashy, aka totally my type! Eventually I'll learn to navigate Elliott and will feel completely at home having him by my side. But bear with me...it's gonna take a while.

(This is not my Elliott...he's much more debonair, but a little camera shy. This is Elliott's stand-in.)

If you haven't yet, go see Star Trek. Seriously, it's brilliant. I've been waiting for this film for such a long time, and knew it was in capable hands. And by capable hands I mean JJ Abrams. As in the man behind Lost. Nuff said. Even if you're not a Sci-Fi lover, Star Trek is highly entertaining. And do I need to mention it stars Chris Pine as young Captain James T. Kirk?

Well hellooooo there, Capt. Kirk. Are you boldly going where no one has gone before? Make it so, my dear. Make it so.

Just for kicks, watch this...you won't be disappointed, I promise.

Oh, Antwerp, Belgium...how I wish I'd been there for this extravaganza. 'Cause I'd have broken it down with y'all like nobody's business. While getting my Fraulein Maria on.

It makes me happy. And don't we all need a bit of happy on a Monday?

Welcome to the Mac club. You will never go back! I'm telling you. I am promising you.

Elliot, welcome home.

Wow! Mr Macintosh is H-O-T. I hope he performs as good as he looks!

That do-re-mi dance is one of my favorites, I watch it weekly. It makes me happy.

So jealous of your new friend...

Mine is driving me crazy - maybe I need a change -

he can boldly go ANYWHERE with me. YES SIR.

i love that your mac has the same name as one of my possible future children. ;)

That video is awesome. That did give me a smile early Monday morning!

I love my Mac. Sometimes I think he's the only one that truly understands me. ;)
Enjoy yours!
Did they transfer you Itunes and pictures? You know the nice Apple people do that, right?

Glad you got a new sidekick, wouldn't want to have you puter-less! :) Oh and I love his name too!

My Ms. Dell gave me the cold shoulder-the Blue Screen of Death-twice in recent months. I just had to acquire a new brain, is all. No more Dells for moi!

PS: You probably don't know this yet, but you've become the POPrs PR person, at HT Lizzy's suggestion. I think you were out of town when I made the announcement. Please check out my post from last Wednesday, galfriend!

That was so totally awesome...Especially with Julie Andrews singing from Sound of Music...I love it.

And my kids saw Star Trek with their grandparents and LOVED it.

Sadly, I must admit, I am not a trekkie. Never was, probably never will be.

Hope this isn't the end for us...

Best wishes on your new computer. Hope Elliott doesn't make Scotty too jealous :)

Happy Monday, girlie!

My own Mr. Dell is driving me nutso. It is sooooo slow. And is dying a most slow and tragic death. I have contemplated taking the Mac route. But I have so much software - like photoshop - that I am not sure I can make the switch. But...I am surely not buying a new computer until Vista goes the way of the dinosaurs.

My dad is a Mac guy. He even has vanity plates that say MacDady. Seriously. He takes his computer very seriously. I have a Gateway and am kind of lost with the Mac operating system, but according to my daddy-i-o and all of the Mac-lovin' world, it is very easy and intuitive. You'll get it!

Star Trek - loved it! Chris, Zach...perfect. Karl Urban was a delicious Bones. I loved Simon Pegg as Scotty. Of course, I just love Simon Pegg, so that wasn't a stretch for me. Have you seen Shawn of the Dead? It's awesome.

Kindred spirits, indeed.

Can I just say what dream come true it would have been for me to have been in that Belgium train station! Seriously awesome. As are you.

Totally loved Star Trek.

You will totally love your Mac. We have a desktop one with a 22 inch screen and we use it to watch things from Hulu as well as actually work on it.

(in ET voice) - Welcome E-lli-ot. No matter how mad she gets at you, don't let Lula call you "penis-breath". It just wouldn't be right.

And the video...it just makes me happy. I can totally picture you gettin' all Fraulein up in there, black dress and pinstripe apron included.

Ah yes, a little happy on Monday is good. My Sweetie's Mac is always taken over by me or one of the girls. LUV it.

Ronnica said...

The more I hear talk of it, the more I want to find someone to go see Star Trek with me.

Tori said...

You are gonna love your mac. It really is very intuitive and you'll have it figured out in no time.

Unknown said...

first of all, i don't think we talked once yesterday & that is a pattern I'd rather not repeat.

Secondly, congrats. Now you're a cool kid, like me

My Mr. Dell is still going strong...oh wait, he's only a year old so it remains to be seen if he has stamina.

Speaking of stamina and Chris Pine...you were speaking of them in the same instance right?!

How are you liking that new phone of yours? THANK GOODNESS my cute little pink phone decided to turn back on so I didn't have to convert to the 21st century pocket computer to make a phone call from.

Amy said...

Ooh I LOVE my mac I am still learning - I think I accidently deleted my itunes! I am blaming my Hubs! He hates my mac.

Thanks for putting a smile on my face with the video.

Mariah said...

I can't figure out the Macs...Seriously. My daughter has one and IT IS FAST!

Kate said...

Oh no, another Mac convert! Macs confuse me so much and my friends and I seem to be endlessly feuding over which are better, Macs or PCs. Once you figure it out let me know if it's true that Macs really are better...I have so many doubts.

Also, I love that do-re-mi video! I had a slew of people send it to me about a month ago because I studied in Salzburg, Austria (home of Sound of Music) last semester. It's an adorable video but it makes me so nostalgic and I get all weepy (in a good way).

I just had to wipe up my key board b/c of all the drool that got on it from staring at your Elliot. He is really really amazing.

Oh and I love that video and I too would have started dancing. Heck, I started dancing here in my chair.

Anonymous said...

Oh I love that dance video!!

You should totally get a Mac.

I heart Elliot. He has a cute name and he is nerdy. Love it.

Chris Pine, please?

ParentingPink said...

Good luck with Elliot. I'm still a PC user, but maybe someday I'll convert!

I'm afraid good ol' Hewitt Packard is on his last legs over here as well...I say this because it took me a little less than 20 minutes to post this single comment.

I hate change.

Hang on Hewitt...please hang on.

Macs are the only computers allowed in this house. My hubby insists on certain things.

We actually went to see Star Trek the night before it officially came out. I was super impressed... we really enjoyed it. And Chris Pine... well, nice. :-)

I saw Star Trek yesterday, and it was AWESOME! Despite the liberties with the storyline, I would see it again and again.

Once you go MAC you never go back.. for real. Honest.. I hate a PC now.. Lee can have them for all his fancy, schmancy business crap but, this is the REAL DEAL.

Maybe I should name mine now.. I did name my owl lamp from Urban Outfitters, "ELLIOTT" :)

SunshineBarlowe.com said...

I have got to get this version of this song for my ipod..that was awesome.

Just Jules said...

I was always a Mac - my hubbies work uses PCs and helped us buy one for home... so I am now a PC and find myself afraid I wouldn't know which buttons to press on a Mac any more

Ashley said...

You're going to love Elliot! Congratulations! :)

Ash said...

I never, in a million years, thought I would lust after anything named Elliot.

I was wrong.

Jealous!

Linda said...

I'm sure I'm not the only one tellin' ya that Mac is the way to go ... you'll never look back, I swear.

Almost, so very close, just about, but didn't see Star Trek this weekend. Don't ask. It will just bring up my resentment and this is your happy Elliot day. Congrats!

Hope your new MAC keeps on keepin on for ya!

I work two nights in a row, and you go and get a blog makeover without me?

WTH?

I like it. I do. Especially the header, and the about me section. 'Cause it is your blog, and it is about you.

Have a good Memorial Day. Drink a cold one for me tonight :)

Well, you're a Mac girl now huh? Hmmmm. My dad is trying to convince me to go Apple, but I'm heavily resisting. Not sure if you can teach this old dog new tricks. :-)

I love that video! I've seen it before and it just makes me smile!

And I'm going to see Star Trek...eventually. It might be Netflixed, but I'll see it sooner or later.
