Booster Shot.

It snowed yesterday. It's October. This is unacceptable weather behavior in my estimation. I spent most of the morning and afternoon feeling rather blah. You know what I mean? Just BLAH!

I made pumpkin crisp. Eh, that wasn't what I needed. Listened to Brooke Fraser, and that perked me up a bit because she is simply divine. (You must listen to her "Live at the Aotea, Auckland, New Zealand" album. It's too beautiful for this world.) And then I had to fold clothes, as well as iron, for a good three hours. Yeah...blah again.

My mood completely mirrored the gray and foggy sky. I refused to feel sorry for myself, but I will admit that I was heading in that direction. Then UPS dropped off a package. I tore into the box and dug out these:

Nothing like a bit of vanity to boost my self-esteem! These sassy and classy Manolo-lookalikes were less than $20. Let me repeat that, y'all...less than $20!

I love cheap thrills. I love fabulous heels. And this particular pair happens to be comfortable! Oh, it makes me happy.

Today I'm going to wear these shoes while I do the dishes...fold more laundry...play Polly Pockets with Caroline...let Libbey read to me after school...and I'll even wear 'em to bed. (Scott will love that, of course. Ahem.) I'm gonna wear them because it's Wednesday. Because it's no longer snowing. And because I can. It's for the good of my feet and the benefit of my state of mind. We're all the better for it.

Let's share shoes, shall we?! :)

I talk a good shoe game--but I'm a bargain hunter too. No Louboutins or Choos or much anything fancier than Nine West! I'll only drop more than a hundred bucks for running shoes or hiking boots. Still---your shoes prove that cheap can still be super pretty :)!

Hope those Polly Pockets appreciated purple peep toes!

When I talked to my grandma yesterday, she told me it had snowed (and they had lost power) over in Boone, NC. I wondered if y'all had gotten some of the white stuff, as well.

Sorry to hear the answer is yes. Isabel is praying for some snow here. I tell her to bite her tongue. No snow until November, preferably December, if I have anything to say about it.

Did you have a good time with your GNO? What a great idea!

Only 9 more days...

No snow here, but plenty of overcast blahsy weather. Maybe I should get a new pair of shoes. I haven't purchased a pair of heels (all flats lately) in about 2 years! I am WAY overdue.

OMG! OMG! OMG! I cannot believe I won...I'm doing a happy dance in my office right now. Thank goodness no one else is here! And I'm not wearing those fabulous heels. Instead I'm wearing my sassy new cowboy boots.

Thank you! Woooooooooooooooooo!

Great shoes. I wish I could wear that color. Maybe I could.
I also love to get a good deal. The most I have payed for a pair of shoes was $90 for some Born sandals.

Congrats to Brandy on the win!!

And those shoes ARE divine! I need to find a comfy pair of heels that I can do housework in. Maybe that would spur me to actually do something around here besides watch t.v. and eat Oreos. Sigh.

It snowed here too. We walked outside and Essie said "Mom, did we bring this from Minnesota?" And according to everyone around here, apparently the snow WAS my fault... so... I apologize....

Ooh girl! I wanna go to your doctor! Oh...wait...that definitely doesn't sound right. I'm making a reference to the title of the post. Oh forget it. I love shoes and those shoes rock.

I want those shoes! Pregnancy made my feet so wide that the only thing that will fit my feet is the box that those shoes came it. They are just so funny and sexy and happy. As for wearing them to bed...well, I am guessing some one will wake up with a smile. ;)

Hi Lula. You don't know me, but Heather told me I should check your blog out. And, I'm glad I did. I love what you have to say.

By the way, LOVE LOVE LOVE the shoes. Purple is my favorite color!! I usually don't wear heels, one b/c I'm almost 5'11 and two, I usually don't go anywhere to wear them. So, enjoy!!!

There is absolutely no way those shoes are comfortable! My feet would die! They would beg to be amputated if I just tried them on! I guess when you get old like me you have to start wearing old lady ugly shoes!

Shoes are the most fun.
I can't believe it was snowing. It was freezing here. It's not time yet.

Keys to the Magic Travel said...

You know they don't make cute shoes. And especially not FMPs for people like me. With Fred Flintstone feet. I need to repeat the mantra..."I'm too sexy for my crocs...I'm too sexy for my birks..."
