It All Adds Up.

It's the little things in life which make me happiest...

My parents & nephew visiting from Georgia...
...'cause they bring my beloved Blue Plate.
(Which will be fantastic on the sandwiches made from my homegrowns!)

When my parents stop by my favorite hometown locale on their way to Virginia,
just to deliver goodies that I'm unable to find in these parts.

Did you just hear that?  Listen again...
...it's a Heavenly Host singing "Hallelujah!"
Because of the Wilson's famous Flower Cookies.
Amen.

That I have a husband who lets me fawn over this one guy I happen to dig a lot.
(Because said husband really digs Kate Winslet a lot.  And I'm OK with that!  She is rather hot.)

That I can admit, without fear of persecution or rejection,
that The Best of Chicago* is a really fantastic album.
Don't Judge.

(Oh, come on..."Make Me Smile" is so awesome.)

Because I live in a country which values freedom.
Because that freedom is not something I take for granted.
Because being an American is just flat-out awesome, y'all!
God has blessed the USA, and I pray He'll continue to do so.
Happy Independence Day, everyone!

*Thanks, Lauren, for the reminder...I rather love you for it.

Oh my goodness those cookies look killer. I'm salivating.

Also, is it possible that the Blue Plate Cafe I go to in Memphis, TN is the very same Blue Plate you mention? It's delicious and very southern and I beg people to go there with me for breakfast almost every weekend when I'm in town for school...

And because your bloggy friend Caroline was born on the 4th - you didn't add that...I'm just sayin'.

I've missed you and for some reason the newest blog posts are not showing up on my blog roll. Poop on that.

Anywho, cookies, yum, Jason S., double yum, and fireworks, hooray!

Oh, and the summer after my senior year of high school, I got to see Chicago in concert in Charlotte. It was so awesome - I love them.

Happy 4th!

A ham sandwich with fresh homegrown tomatoes and blue plate mayo with a cookie for dessert, curled up enjoying it on the couch watching your man on screen....aaah, yes, happiness!

Yum! I love getting stuff that I can only get around home...that happens less and less now that I live across the Canadian border and the border patrol can be a bit snarky about food items. Jason is hot. Chicago rocks. Happy 4th!

Mmmmmmmmm cookies.

How come you didn't offer me one of those instead of beer? Cause you want to get me drunk or just keep them all to yourself? Huh, huh?

Happy 4th babycakes!

What is there NOT to love about this post? I love it all and wish I was there for a sandwich and a cookie whilst listening to Chicago. They were my first concert, btw. LOVE them.

mmm.... Wilsons (said in my best Homer Simpson voice, which really is pretty bad since I loathe the Simpsons in the first place). Anyway... I managed to sneak some Wilsons cookies when I was in WR last month and they were SO good! Of course, my fave is the petit fours... YUM!

All good things. Although I must confess I don't know Blue Plate and am a devout Helmann's fan. Ahem.

Have a wonderful 4th with your parents!

I'm even more in love with you, now.
Ahh, Chicago. Or Air Supply. Or REO Speedwagon.
Amen.

Clearly we will be needing to eat some tomato and Blue Plate sammiches later this month.

Poolside.

Whilst our men play xbox in the man room and our children frolic happily in the pool.

That's my dream, anyway.

Counting down the minutes...

Happy July 4th! GOD bless America!

It's funny how those home food treasures are the best! When my cousin comes home, it's all about the Frisch's tartar sauce. You just don't understand, until you miss it.

(and Kate Winslet IS hot:)

Now I need a flower cookie. For real. And a cheese straw. And a petit four, you know, to balance things out some.

listen, is that a grease spot on the wilson's box? if so, love the realism. and i think i'm with tori, petit fours are my favorite, too. remember tiffany's at the macon mall (which, by the way, my mother has deemed unsafe for visiting)? it always smelled so much better than its cookies tasted.

hmmm...petit fours, flower cookies, or lady fingers? yes, please.

I feel like that when I see my parents. I want Aurellios pizza, Krakus ham, and Canfield's soda.
