Best Date Ever.

So I mentioned in my last post that I had big plans for Valentimes, and that I'd share those plans on Monday. It is now Monday. Wanna know what we did? Great!

Without telling him until the absolute last minute, I whisked my husband away to a meal of divine proportions, followed by a stay in a gorgeous hotel. We were not even an hour from home, but I knew we both needed a little break. We love our children and are beyond blessed to have our roles as "Mommy" and "Daddy." For us, though, marriage comes first. And that relationship takes priority above any other. We were due for some couple time. Big time.

On Friday afternoon we dropped the girls off at my in-laws', which is where they'd rather be most of the time anyway. We headed south to The Carnegie Hotel, in Johnson City, TN.
This was our room...however our cheese tray was accompained by Bellinis. You know, peach puree and champagne? It's liquid ambrosia, indeed.
Wellington's is the restaurant located ajacent to The Carnegie. It. Is. Fabulous. Scott devoured fish and lobster, while I feasted on beef medallions and fried green tomatoes. Divine!
After dinner we strolled around the hotel for a while, then retired to our room. The end.

Yeah, like I'm telling y'all anything else! Well...I can reveal that rather than venture out to see the new Friday the 13th flick, we decided to enjoy a movie in the comfort of our room. Wanna know what we watched?

Yes, I spent Valentime's Eve with my husband and my boyfriend! Said Scott, "Honey, at least he's a badass." Well put, my dear. And I love you forever and ever, on Valentimes and always.

I thought about you ALL weekend, because I got to watch your boyfriend all weekend, too! He was on like every channel! Such a bad ass!

now that was a fabulous V-day for ya'll! Way to include all the hotties in your life! (We watched Transporter and Transporter 2 last today...my husband had never seen them. I was super excited to spend the afternoon on the couch enjoying Jason!)

You are so lucky Scott and Jason get along so well.

Have I mentioned that I LOVE bellinis? And that there is a little cafe attached to a bookstore near my hospital that serves alcohol to the poor night-shift workers in the morning?

Yep, bellinis are heavenly. You can't go wrong with peach puree and champagne, with a cherry at the bottom if you're lucky.

Glad to hear you had a great time. Do you earn extra stars for that?

What fun! I caught a glimpse or two of Jason this weekend as well. He really is such a badass!

BAHAHAHAHAHAHA Oh my gosh you didn't! Well, it's just the perfect non-kiddo date. How cool. We have a non-kid weekend coming up next weekend but we decided to ship the kids off to grandma's and stay home. And I found a theatre that still has Twilight showing. My husband hasn't seen it. BAHAHAHAHA

You are so awesome, surprising your hubby like that. I mean there might have been a perk or two for you, but who cares.

It's okay, you can just call me with the rest of the juicy details.

What a lovely weekend. I love that YOU planned this! My hubs and I also take our "me and you only" time. It is so important. And you are right...even if it is within ear shot of your home. Still seems like a different world.

Nice.
I need some of that right now.

You spent Valentine's day with your hubby, and your boyfriend in a lovely hotel with incredible food?

I can't decide if I should be really happy for you.....or just plain jealous. I'm going to go for HAPPY.

Seriously, Lula, sounds like the perfect Valentine's day. I'm so glad you had such a wonderful time. So glad!

That sounds delightful!! A night away in a luxury hotel with no kiddos, yummy food AND a movie. Perfection.

Sounds like an incredible Valentine's. Better than mine!

Awe, that looks like a really cute getaway! There is a hotel here that we had a getaway like that at once, but I slept in a bed that Mick Jagger had slept in.

It was surreal, and it's just a bed :)

Nothing like hotel 'movies' to bring some life into a marriage!

Wait, I'm confused.

If you were only an hour away from your home. And Johnson City, TN is only an hour away from me (give or take). Then how far is your home away from mine?

Cuz if I find out in heaven that we lived, like, 1hr. and 15 min. from each other...I'm gonna be hacked!

I loved your post. Sounds like a fabulous date! :) I plan on me 'n' my hubby going away for the evening once our little girl no longer relies on my boob juice for nourishment. Read about our date on my blog.

Sounds delightful and relaxing. Glad you got to get away with your love ... I'm talking about Scott.

At first, I was disappointed that it wasn't porn that you watched in the hotel room.

But then I realized it was LulaPorn. HAHAHA

Mmmmmmm. Bellinis are my favorite! Looks like you guys had a well deserved, fun weekend!

Britt said...

Ohh your making my green eyes light up with envy =-)

Your Valentimes day sounds delightful, darling. Mine can be described as... productive. Which is better than forgotten, hm? lol

So glad you were able to get away and enjoy yourselves. I think our country would be in much better shape if more people put marriage higher on the list. High fives to you! =-)

What a wonderful Valentine's Day! As Ted and I were eating take out at 8 PM on vday night, he said, "Want to get a hotel room?" Umm...a bit late for that dear. Haha...my husband isn't a plan ahead type of guy.

Mariah said...

Sounds perfect!! I agree marriage has to come first, cuz what are you going to do when the kids leave?

Tony C said...

I pass by the Carnegie daily but will now never look at it the same...Lula, Mr. Lula, and the other guy...a ménage à trois in the shadow of the Minidome! Gasp!

There a great little B&B in the Smokies called the Richmont Inn...but there's no TV, so your boyfriend would have to stay home...unless you old school it with a poster on the wall.

Shannon said...

I want to go to there.

NOW.

aaaaaw! What a great weekend!

I went to California and sat in a gazebo in the rain. Even did a little Sound of Music re-enacting (I am 16 going on 17...). My man made me flowers out of balloons and fixed my computer hard drive and took me out to eat. We couldn't retire to a room cuz we gotta wait to have that kind of fun again----but my V.Day was very, very nice :) (and that story is exclusive to this blog comment!)
