My Phone Went to Sin City.

We've just returned from five days in Las Vegas! I know y'all want to hear about Sitscation '09, and I have so much to tell (it was amazing!).

Before I fill you in on all the delicious dirt regarding some of your favorite bloggy peeps, please allow me to share a few of the pictures I captured with my BlackBerry while in Vegas. Because honestly, I take photos of the most random stuff in the world. Even in Vegas. Ask Bekah...she'll confirm. (But she won't tell about all the secret pics we send to each other. Will you, Bek?)

Me: Honey, pose by that Roman statue.
Scott: Uh...seriously?
Me: Yes! You are hotter than a Roman statue!
Scott: HARDER?
Me: You perv, I said "hotter."
Scott: But "harder" is applicable, too.
I love him. And his Caesar-esque hair did.

Thank you, delicious crab of the sea,
who died to provide this fantastic meal for me.
And thank you, Joe's Stone Crab, for preparing said dead crab for me.
It was a foodgasm. The end.

Here's a transcript of the text that accompanied this picture:
Me: LAUREN! Look! I gasped! Audibly!
Lauren: That was designed for me, clearly.
(Because yes, I photograph lingerie in Macy's, so my friends can
share in the glee of a perfect find. That is not at all creepy.)

Heather gifted me with this hat.
It is the best hat in the history of the world,
and I defy you to try and prove otherwise.
Best. Hat. Ever.
Not only does our other BFF, Tiffany, have this chapeau (with a magenta fleur-di-lis),
Lafayette was also wearing one in the season 2 finale of True Blood.
BRILLIANT!
Is all I can say. And thanks, Heather. I love you!

Nope.
Gambling doesn't pay.
Not when The Venetian gives you $25 with which to play.
Not when you hit $111.85 on the penny slots.
Don't gamble, kids. Nothing good can come of it.
Ahem.

The Bloody Mary...the perfect breakfast drink.
Look at all those veggies...vitamins...minerals...
...it's the meal of champions.
I'm a champion. Obviously.

Sigh...
more Twilight-related lameness...
"Get Bitten...Be Transformed."
Gee, DuWop...
I really don't want to look like a pasty-faced crackwhore.
But thanks for another marketing ploy to further cheapen a beautiful love story.
Yeah Summit, I'm looking at YOU!

If you are ever in Las Vegas & begin to jones for good Mexican,
get thyself to Dos Caminos in The Palazzo.
And then get the grilled shrimp quesadilla.
Oh, hey there! Best food of my life.
What...like y'all don't take pics of your food?
Nikki & I do it all the time.
Pretty soon we'll have a coffee table book, titled,
Delicious Finds for the Food Connoisseur
Or, more simply put,
Our Meals. We Rule.
(On bookshelves, Summer 2010.)

More Vegas adventures to come...right now I have to watch Gossip Girl. Y'all know how I feel about my Mother Chucker.
chuck bass Pictures, Images and Photos
He would own Vegas. Swoon!

Looks like a good time!

And I just recently discovered that Ed Westwick is British. Yummy! A whole new reason to start watching GG.

Can we please talk about how I DIED while watching GG tonight. Seriously. I'm building a shrine to Ed Westwick in my room right now. So far all I've got is a scarf and a purple ascot.

Man, that quesadilla was good- I got it on Saturday night and LOVED it.

Um, why did you not take your picture on the red carpet? I am quite sad...

Miss you already.

Can't wait to come back and read. I have to go get ready for work, but I will be back later to do more than look at pictures. I'm super excited for November!

My head is too big for hats.

Welcome back!! Can't wait to hear details!!!

OK, the crab legs, Bloody Mary AND the shrimp quesadilla all have me dying at 8:28am!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I know, I am focused on the food. It's what I do!!

Crab legs and a Blue Moon? Be still my beating heart.

Looks like you had a great time (and won at the slots? Awesome!)

Now can we please start the countdown to yet another trip? Oh, yeah, 22 days bay-bee!

(You may have to remind Scotty over and over on this one.)

Those are some awesome pictures. I don't know if I would try crab...looks scary. :)

you seriously had the best time. It just makes me sad that I didn't get to hang out with you more. I guess we will just have to leave that for the next time. Or maybe it was b/c I am too tall. ;)

Why didn't you tell me about that shrimp quesadilla before? :) LOVED these random shots and thoughts. And you, of course.

I knew reading about all the Sitscation stuff was going to be difficult. I hope my professors and their freaking stupid attendance policies adore me for choosing class over blog friends:(
I am soooo happy that everyone had such an amazing time though. And glad you got to meet my Elena too!

Can't wait to hear more!

Scott is wearing a Stubb's shirt! Stubb's is in my hometown! I feel connected...a little!

Elena said...

Are you kidding me?! You won $111 on penny slots??? I won 4, as in $4 tiny little dollars. Ah well, at least I didn't lose anything.

oh. we will keep those pictures a secret. at least I deleted yours. I bet you still have mine.. for the day I become famous and you decide to sell it to Perez & make millions

How has Chuck NOT been to Vegas yet? Are they saving that for the finale? I bet they are.

Um. best lingerie ever.

And I totally take pics of my food.

Oh...and my favorite part of the post is Scott's shirt. That is awesomeness right there! haha

(SIGH)...I love Vegas. I've been 4 times and each trip holds specific, fond memories. Next to the North Shore of Oahu, Vegas is my favorite chillin' spot.

Glad you had a blast! I hope you post a lot about your trip, so I relive my Vegas experiences through you (I have a 2 year old and fully expect Disney World will be my travel destination for several years to come).

Loved Scott's shirt...

I finally got all my pictures downloaded...and I can't believe all the people I didn't get pictures with. Ugh.

But I love random pictures. And I love to take pictures of my food. Have you read my cruise posts?? It's all about the food. But....my food in Vegas was pretty much the food court stuffs. I saved my money for other things. Though the shrimp quesadillas look loverly...

Gah! What's with all the stinky seafood. Ick. Yuck. Blah.

But the hat is purty cute. As are you.

Brandy said...

Almost forgot to add my undying love for all things Chuck Bass. I didn't think that I could love him more but then last night happened...and well apparently it IS possible.

CaraBee said...

Oh the crab legs. And the quesadillas. And the bloody mary. Swoon. Can you tell I'm all about the food?

Although the hat is KILLER! I wish I were a hat person. Sigh. I have several that I bought because they're so darn cute and they just never feel right.

I am still so sad that I couldn't come, but I loved your recap. Next time, fo sho.

KatBouska said...

Well I clearly came at the wrong time. Next time I'm coming early so that I can eat crabs and quesadillas with you and miss the flu bug. :( How was the flight home? Did you survive?

Kate said...

Lula! I was at Dos Caminos this weekend! What are the odds? And I totally went back and forth between that quesadilla and the farmer's market vegetable quesadilla and now I'm almost regretting my choice. (Luckily my choice was also delish.)

Glad you had a blast in Vegas. :)

It was so fun to meet you in Vegas! I'm loving this post - your pictures and captions are just hilarious. One of my Vegas posts will be featuring the dessert from lunch on Saturday. I, too, photograph amazingly delicious and fancy food because it makes me happy. :)

Great, it's almost 1am and now I'm hungry and dying for new clothes. Looks like it was a truly fabulous eating adventure!

I totally agree with the "pasty face crack whore" comment. I was going there in my mind before I read your comment to go with the pic. No thank you Sephora!
