Hope Now.

Today is too big of a deal to outright ignore. But I abhor controversy and the stirring of strife. Therefore I choose to share my heart. The following lyrics are from a song by one of my favorite bands, Addison Road. I've been singing it a lot these past few days. Truly, these words express what I'm feeling at this exact moment. On this day. Regardless of the election results.

"Hope Now"

If everything comes down to love
Then just what am I afraid of
When I call out Your Name
Something inside awakes in my soul
How quickly I forget I'm Yours

I'm not my own
I've been carried by You
All my life

Everything rides on hope now
Everything rides on faith somehow
When the world has broken me down
Your love sets me free

When my life is like a storm
Rising waters, all I want is the shore
You say I'll be ok and
Make it through the rain
You are my shelter from the storm

Everything rides on hope now
Everything rides on faith somehow
When the world has broken me down
Your love sets me free

You've become my heart's desire
I will sing Your praises higher
Cause Your love sets me free
Your love sets me free
Your love sets me free

~Lyrics by Ryan Gregg

I'm thankful, proud, and blessed to be an American. But more than anything, I'm thankful for the Love that sets me free. On Election Day and always.

It is a big day. And a big deal. And what is so cool is that so many people are taking part in the process. And having their voices heard. I am just glad that my voice was heard a few weeks ago so that I can enjoy another summit at 11am.

So true! I love my country--but even if it falls to pieces--I'm anchored in a "more perfect way".

Thanks Lula :).

I was listening to the song as I read your post. It is helpful to be reminded that no matter who we are voting for today, we all have the same need for this Hope that sets us free.

Amen sister, isn't this just an amazing country, and for us to be held in such Amazing Grace.

Oh, I love this song! Great post for today. The results of this election are already decided in and in God's hands; we just need to trust that is He going to take of us, which I know He will.

You know we'll be talking tomorrow. I'll be driving into work at 2p; I'll give you a call then.

No matter who voted for who today, history will be made in one way or another. I am honored to be a part of it all but...

This is a beautiful, non-partisan post reminding us who we should be looking to for hope.

Another summit, did Kat say?! Good lord, she's a blogging meetup maniac! I'm so jealous.

I love that photo of the hands. And I'm so glad I live in this country. No matter who ends up as president.

That is the most amazing globe I've ever seen. It actually took me a minute to realize what it was. Beautiful song. I've had so many conflicting emotions over the last umpteen months and so much frustration. I'm glad to finally be done with this election and to move forward. Beautiful song. Perfect for today.
