"I'm Here To Keep My Eye On Her..."

Darling Daughters,

When you are older I'll tell you about the day I realized you two were not only sisters, but also friends. Libbey, when I picked you up from school yesterday afternoon, Caroline inquired, "Sissy, how was your day?" You replied, "It was good! What did you do today?" What followed next was a conversation between two buddies who had clearly missed each other during the day, happy to be reunited once again. Yes, your sappy mother cried just a little.

I pray you girls are always the best of friends. Even when inevitable disagreements or knock-down, drag-out fights occur, I hope your hearts will remember the immeasurable love you share.

More than anything, though, I pray you girls will maintain your dignity and decorum, both now and as you grow into young ladies. Because if either of you behave in a manner similar to these famous sisters, your father and I will write you out of our wills. Yeah. Seriously.

Oh, Lindsey and Ali.

Oh, Paris and Nikki.

I'm so over celebrity sister shenanigans. The tackiness needs to stop. It makes me tired.

Sweet, precious, beautiful, modest, and well-brought up daughters of mine...you have been warned. And I warn y'all in love, of course.

I love you both...forever...

xoxo,

Mommy

AMEN!

BTW, have I mentioned that I have two "equally as devoted to each other" sons.........

just sayin.

(LOVE the monogrammed matching dresses! my boys won't let me do that to them!)

Uh, yeah. Written out FO SHO!

I finally got my interview questions posted!

Those dresses your girls are wearing are darling. I need to get one for Allie.

It has always been my dream to have two little girls that were the best of friends. I have one so far.... I need to start working on a second one!

Can I send my girls to Sister Boot Camp at your house? Do you think Libby and Libbey would get confused?

Julie said...

I pray that my boys are the best of friends too! I know Jasper misses Eli when he is at school!

What the hell happened to that Lindsay Lohan? Has she moved on to the anorexia stage of development, and I as one with a lifelong eating disorder say that with love. She's scaring me.

But, your daughters are gorgeous. I love the notes to them. I love their dresses. And I love the quote at the end. It sounds familiar to me though, but if I'm recalling right it was said with a bit of a bite. Am I totally off track? You know me and quotes, song lyrics and everything.

xoxo

Your girls are absolutely gorgeous. Can't imagine where they may get all those good looks from. :D

There truly is nothing like the relationship between sisters. My sister and I, despite the distance and our differences, will always have a special bond. She is the only person in the world who shared my childhood completely.

Okay, I think I just sold myself on having another baby.

Mine are the same way. I so love it. I'm an only child and I pray that my kids continue to be good friends. My son rushed to his sister yesterday to hug her before he gave me my hug!

I love their dresses! So cute. My two youngest, Ryan and Emma seem to really like each other. They look for each other when one is gone or still napping. They fight but they play together too.

My two oldest boys have gone through their fighting stages but they are so there for each other. I love it.

I wish I had a sister.

oh, that does it. I need to pop out like 10 more kids... right now! I can't wait for Mikey to have a sibling to share his day with. Of course, I'm planning on making 3 more babies, so he'll have his pick of who to share his day with, lol.

Your daughters are adorable Lula!

Really, you don't want them to end up like the Hilton girls? I can't imagine why not....

I know. It just warms my heart when my children speak caringly to one another. Michael looks out for his sisters. It just makes me so sappy and happy.

I'm still so jealous that your girls wear hair bows. The definition of insanity is attempting the same thing (i.e. hair bows in my girls hair) and expecting a different result. The Sunday School teacher, as least, saves the bows, barretts, headbands and such so I can attempt the insanity next week........

Very sweet....but since you don't have a sister, let me just tell you a few things. It's gonna get ugly! There will be fights over clothes, shoes, makeup, and possibly even boys....but they will remember their love for eachother again....when they are old....very old!

Man....I do love that chair they are sitting on!

I have two sisters and it's all love and games until...about puberty and then ugh. Not so pretty. Rest assured it will get pretty again. And it will NEVER get as bad as those celebs.

That's my story anyway.

Cute dresses. And bows...love the bows.

Melissa is cracking me up :)

Sisters are the best. I love mine (as you know).

I've met these girls of yours. They will be fine. I can't see any Lohan-ness in either of them. I adore that picture of the two of them, bows, monograms, matching dresses and all.

Bee-you-tee-full.

You done good, momma.

I love having a girl now, but lord, I dread tweenhood.

I can only imagine how your heart melted over that conversation. They are surely sweet and beautiful. And while we are done at one and won't see Tristan interact with a sibling, I can tell you that sisterhood is wonderful. I have 2 and and while we went through a time when we were not close through adolescence, we are best friends now and can't imagine life without them.

Melissa Lester said...

They are so adorable, Lula. I think as long as we keep them in hairbows and monograms, how can they go wrong?

Jen said...

I love the photo of your girls, so cute! Sisters are something. I wouldn't give mine up for the world and though its been a rocky relationship, she is my best friend.

Sissy said...

That pic at the end is ADORABLE! Oh, my. I love the bows, you southern girl you! And the monogrammed dresses. What fun. When I have kids, will you dress them?

Britt said...

Aww, how darling are they?

I love hearing KayLynn go into Viv's room in the morning and say, "Good morning sissy! Sleep good?" and when they exchange goodnights .. yep, I'm a little wet around the eyes =-)

But if they ever walk out my house with a dress and no panties .. I'm hiding all their clothes until they promise to wear them forever and ever, amen.

I am blessed with two sisters and I am so very lucky. I only wish my Madie had a sister. She really needs one.

and I am with you on the celeb sisters. I think they should all be put in boxes and never released.

Precious ... what a blessing. My daughters are pretty tight too. But one daughter and one son, they're like oil and vinegar. I can only hope the vinegar will sweeten over time.

Heather said...

STOP IT with the monogrammed dresses. Those. are. precious! As are the little models. Aren't sisters grande??

Unknown said...

Sisters... Sisters... there were never such devoted sisters. Never had to have a chaperone, no sir. I'm here to keep my eye on her.

Caring. Sharing. Every little thing that we are wearing.

THAT song is my ring tone for my sister.

Ahhhhh... good movie.

My heart swells when I see or overhear my girls being sweet to each other...

Yeah, mine had better not do any of these sister-shenanigans, either.

I hope my kids grow up to be friends as well as siblings. Being 14 1/2 months apart I would think so, but my sister and I are 17 months apart and at times have had quite a struggle in this area. I realize that a big reason for this is that our bio parents did not nurture this type of relationship between us and that I have a huge responsibility as a mom to teach my kids about having and being friends, starting first with each other. I watch my 2 sisters Brytleigh and Delaynie being best friends and I get all warm and fuzzy inside and at the same time, a twinge of melancholy because I never had that with my sister Hannah.

Let's not forget Brittney and Jamie Lyn..... Mary Kate and Ashley....

I think your girls will fare much, much better!!!

My girls are now great friends, but it took forever and a day...glad your two have reached an epiphany much earlier in life!

Wish my girls were that sweet when I pick them up after school. Usually all I hear is ... "get away from me" and "stop it." (with occasional bursts of laughter) These sisters slap each other one second and in the next second cry because they're separated. Weird. Never had a sister so I wouldn't understand.

Love the "White Christmas" references.

BEST.POST.EVER.

Seriously, amazing.

I don't have a sister, but I now have a sister-in-love who I love dearly and is my best friend :)

Cutest girls ever!

Those dresses, those smiling, adorable faces, their sweet conversation...I'm going to cry! Adorable.

Your girls are precious!!!! I don't think you will have to worry about your girls going in the way of the Hiltons!! If I may quote a super good book....Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not depart from it.

Hugs!
Tracey
ps...I longed oooooh sooo much for a sister when I was growing up!! I dreamed about how wonderful my life would be if I had HER instead of the two stinky, mud digging, cowboy and indian playing, tear up my barbies brothers that God blessed me with!! Reality check-we probably would have fought like cats and dogs!! ha!

I'm behind...I know! But I thought this was such a sweet post about my sweet girls!

Also to tell you my girls are all grown up and really do love each other just as I do my lil sis!

You're raising them right - with monogramms!!

How can they not be little ladies?

Are you into arranged marriages? I pray every night for the girls that will some day be my DILs - wherever they may be.

May their parents be trying as hard as we are!!!
