Makes Me Happy.

What's making you happy this week? Do share. I will, too:

The Dark Was the Night album is an amazing compilation disc that supports HIV/AIDS relief. Featuring music by artists such as Sufjan Stevens, Iron & Wine, Bon Iver, Arcade Fire, Feist and Ben Gibbard (lead singer of Death Cab for Cutie), My Morning Jacket, and many others, this is an absolute must-have CD. Seriously. I've worn it out all weekend. Plus, purchasing it means you're contributing to charity. A win all around. (Thanks, David, for the heads up a couple of weeks ago.)

The Girl Who Could Fly, by Victoria Forester. Read this last week in almost one sitting...it was mesmerizing. My friend (ahem!), Stephenie Meyer, recommended this book. I believe we all know by now that she has impeccible taste. I was not disappointed in this one. Not at all.

Dollhouse, Friday nights on Fox. My new favorite show, from Joss Whedon. Seriously...Joss could write a show about people looking at blank walls and I'd watch. He's pretty much a genius. Plus, any hour of television featuring actors formerly of Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Battlestar Galactica...well, that right there should clue you in to the yummy goodness that is Dollhouse.

Sula perfume in Stiletto Musk. ItalicJust the name itself makes me happy! And it smells incredible. I am a musk fan. I also dig stiletto heels. Just so you know.

Summer Heights High on DVD. Rent this from Netflix. Now. It's witty, snarky, and belly-shaking hilarious.

Of course I adore my two beauties, Libbey and Caroline, but I also have to mention our nieces, Helen (almost 9 months) and Eliza (2). I love these girls. I also love that Liza calls me "Aunt Lula." Truly precious, indeed.
Also on the happiness radar...

Sunday afternoon naps

Valley of the Moon Zinfandel

Exemplify

Date nights and eating Thai food (even when Thai food disagrees with my constitutions...)

Good, good times. It all makes me happy. And we need more happy in our lives, don't we? Yes, we do. What are you gleeful about this week?

p.s. Thanks, my dear, sweet Kristen, for speaking Truth in Love, when I am unable to do so...because my hands are full of virtual tomatoes, when your hands are full of God's Word. I love you. Longtime.

My SIL belongs to that Stephanie Meyers group, but she said that she really only recommends YA novels. Interesting.

I love these kinds of posts. I saw that book in the store and almost got it, dagnabbit. I will have to go back because I just can't seem to hack my way through the end of Tithe. Ugh... I did get Envy, though, and have started that. So, we'll see.

New book suggestions make me happy. Because I am reading like crazy these days. But now that I have vowed to get back to blogging and commenting that might all hit the fan. However blogging and commenting is making me pretty happy right now...

Sounds like a divine weekend.

Love to hear what makes you happy.

What makes me happy:

Joe taking good care of my kiddos while I work the whole weekend. Having dinner ready for me when I roll in the door at 8:30pm (even if it chicken nuggets and smiley fries).

Working with a great team of nurses and docs this weekend, even if my patient was on her call light every five freakin' minutes, sometimes forgetting what she called out for.

Planning our Disney trip. We leave in NINE days!

Coffee. With hazelnut creamer.

Catching up with bloggy friends. We need to talk. This week.

That's it for now.

This week? I'm struggling to find something to be happy about.

But, I will. Oh, yes. I will.

Even if it kills me!

Sula for Lula. Nice! I am loving Thai food too, can't get enough of it lately. The Exemplify online magazine looks so inspiring and beautiful, I will have to delve in further. This week, I was happy I was very productive around the house and enjoyed a short weekend with my best friend since 7th grade who came to visit me. We enjoyed Blue Moon on a sidewalk cafe in the town I love, Mojitos after dinner on my patio and a few good laughs.

All good things. Zinfandel is my favorite wine. Ravenswood. Yummilicious. That CD sounds exactly like something I would like, so I will definitely check it out.

I was wondering what you thought of Dollhouse. I have to confess, I wasn't wowed by it. I enjoyed it, and I will watch it again, but it didn't immediately move into my top five.

Gah! I'm a dumb ass. I didn't even realize that you posted about Dollhouse when I asked you.

Awesome show. But Summer Heights? Really? I watched the first one or two parts and then I just couldn't take it anymore.

I'd be really happy if I didn't have strep throat and if my 19 month old didn't spend most of morning crying/screaming about who knows what but I think she's sick too (must be viral, she's still on antibiotic)

In any case, I dropped by your friend Kristin's blog and left a comment and name dropped you. LOL I COMPLETELY agree with her and added my own irritation about the outrage that Rick Warren giving the Inaugural Invocation stirred up. These people need to grow a brain. Or much more useful, a heart.

I'm really upset I missed the Dollhouse. It looked so cool! And I loved Buffy--I really like Josh Weadon's style.

Nice post...got me wanting to check out that perfume :)
Right now I'm happy because hubby went to pick up the girl from school so I didn't have to make the run.

Beautifully decorated rooms. Perfect fitting jeans. Really high heels that are comfortable. A good yoga class. Professionally styled hair. Killer music and book recomends (Thank you Miss Lula), knowing that summer is coming, hanging out with my kids and friends. xoxo
