A Prayer For Down There.

Yesterday I stumbled across this heartbreaking article about an entire family who perished in the fires currently raging across Victoria, Australia. That a precious family--a husband, wife, 2 sons, and a young daughter--lost their lives in such a horrible manner is unreal to me. I cannot wrap my head around the magnitude of this situation. It literally makes me weep.

Dear people of Australia, I love you. Because of the great distance between us I am unable to offer help...I am unable to physically wrap my arms around you....I am unable to do much of anything. But I can pray. And I will pray. For all of you.

beauty for ashes...
gladness in times of mourning...
praise for despair...
(from Isaiah 61:3)

Have you heard about Sam the Koala? She's famous...and feeling better, after burning her paws and inhaling smoke. It makes me happy.

This is the most adorable picture ever. My girls loved the firefighter holding Sam's "hand."

*Heather also posted about the recent events in Australia. (I'd say it was great minds, but let's go with our loving hearts that think alike, too. And our ghetto/trailer fabulousness, indeed.)

That koala is adorable. Totally. We have friends that live in Australia and I am hoping they are ok. Include the Cathys in your prayers if you think about it.

I am so saddened by the tragedies in Australia. So, so sad. That might be the cutest picture ever, though. A silver lining, I suppose.

In every tragedy there is a bit of human goodness that helps us cope.

This picture so represents that hope that we can and do help one another, whether it's on the scene or half a world away with prayers.

And of course you and Heather have both great minds and great hearts. It's a shame y'all live on opposite coasts.

It's heartbreaking! I'm not even showing my girls that koala because they'll be wanting to add one to our Delta zoo...at our house. HA

You know, we are going to Australia for VBS this year!

This is so heartbreaking. I want to go there and help but I wouldn't even know how. At least not without losing my job.

It is awful. What really stinks is that there was more media coverage about Jessica Simpson being "fat" and Rhianna's assault then this disaster. ~sigh~

It is so sad. We were evacuated last summer when a fire was quickly head our way with 70 mile an hour winds. At least no one here lost their life.

Koala's are the cutest ever. They make me cry just looking at them because they are too cute to let me keep a straight face.

It's why I have the cat that I do... because I thought he had a koala face.

So.darn.cute.
