Slow Dancing In A Burning Room.

If you don't catch that metaphor, you're not going to get this post. And I want you to get this post. 'Cause it's important.

See that playlist over on the right? It's entitled "Tonight's the Night." I think we all know Valentine's day is this Saturday. And while you didn't ask, I'm going to offer a playlist that I think is appropriate for Valentine's day. Or any day. Or any night. Such as tonight. Ahem.

Here's a cheat sheet of tunes, for the lazy. Or for those who take me seriously and aren't afraid.

Solid Sender--John Lee Hooker
Slow Dancing in a Burning Room--John Mayer
Crawl--Kings of Leon
Let Down--Radiohead
Back Door Man--The Doors
Cry To Me--Solomon Burke
Figured You Out--Nickelback
Pony--Ginuwine
My Body is a Cage--Arcade Fire
Get It While You Can--Janis Joplin
Paralyzer--Finger 11
New Year's Prayer--Jeff Buckley
6 Underground--Sneaker Pimps
Mysterious Ways--U2
Feelin' Love--Paula Cole
Since I've Been Loving You--Led Zeppelin
Supermassive Black Hole--Muse (thanks, Heather!)

hearts Pictures, Images and Photos

Since I take y'all seriously, share songs you enjoy. You know, for Valentine's day. Or for slow dancing in a burning room. Or, you know...whatever...

I'm just sayin'.

I saw that you had changed your list the other day but I forgot to comment about it. Love it! I just finally answered your email and there are a TON of songs on there for you. Enjoy....

Lula, you know I love a playlist, for any occasion, Valentines Day, Groundhog Day, May 7th. But I'm kinda slow, isn't Slow Dancin' in A Burnin' Room a break up song? Or is it just the title that you're looking at. Help me. I'm stupid. :)

Oh girl the only song I recognize on your list is Paralyzer by Finger 11. Just put on Marvin Gay..."Lets Get It On" simple and to the point *wink wink*

Where's the Enigma? 'Cause Joe always knows what that means!

I'll bet Scotty is loving this playlist on your blog. Probably listening to it at work, getting his (hopes) up...

WAIT...you forgot Supermassive Black Hole. It's our pole dancing song.

Eh, I'm not a romantic. I don't do songs when I'm in "the mood".

While I confess that in the years before Mrs. Tony C Today I was completely sold on 'the right playlist for the right lady' strategy for appropriate mood setting and compiled a collection of self-burned CD's, all it takes today is a single soundtrack or DVD playing...Dirty Dancing.

Mrs. Tony C Today loses her mind!
(I have several copies strategically placed around the house)

I love music. I grew up completely immersed in it. My mom has owned a record (now all CDs) store since I was 4. I spent more evenings and weekends parked behind the counter than I care to count. But interestingly, it's never been a part of my husband and I's romance. Probably because our tastes are pretty different. Now, my boyfriend before Neil? He gave me a new mix CD every couple of weeks and there was always music on. I enjoyed that. Too bad he was such a shadoobie.

I gotta go with Mama Dawg. I'm more of a booty shaker than a slow dancer. But, for the sake of the upcoming holiday, I'll make an effort and check out the songs;)

would i be showing my age (and musical ignorance) if I told you I only know about one song from your list?

ugh.

Hhmmmm...... You know I answered in my interview questions that I love music. This is a hard one. But here goes a few:
Purple Rain - Prince
These Arms of Mine - Al Green
Black - Pearl Jam
So Cruel- U2
Cashmere - Led Zepplin

Those are a quick few. I could have spent a long, long time on this. =)

This list is kind of all over the place. Honestly, the soundtrack to "Queen of the Damned" does it for us :)

"Crash" Dave Matthews.

Seriously, hands down the sexiest song in my book.

I think I need a cold shower.
