All Is Calm, All Is Bright...

Dear Mrs. Sherry,
I love you. I love that you are the Children's Programmer at our local public library. I love that you love my children, particularly Caroline. I love that you come up with all kinds of fun field trips for my three year old. You know, like decorating a tree...in the rain...at the park...with Santa...and 10 other three year olds. Yeah, good times.

Until Santa tries to hug Caroline. Dude, you're messin' with the wrong child.

She'll show you. She'll show you how to pout, that is.

She'll also show you how she refuses to decorate the tree. Yes, she will. And yet she is rather cute in her refusal.

Mrs. Sherry to the rescue! Wow, Caroline is capable of smiling!

So thank you, Sherry Myers, for being such a light in the life of my daughter. Especially at Christmas. Especially when I roll my eyes a lot and have to remind everyone within earshot, "She is nothing like Libbey, clearly." Especially when she's in one of her moods...or crying...or pouting...or in one of her moods. And especially when I'm in one of my moods.

Oh, and just so everyone knows...the picture below is the ornament Caroline refused to hang on the tree. It has but one word written upon it. One very appropriate word: Hallelujah and Amen. It's my grown-up Christmas wish.

Amen to Peace!

And how about a little betrothment between little Miss Caroline and darling little Cooper? Because between the two of them they would make some might fine lookin offspring.......

IN 20 years!!!!

We LOVE our library, but we need a childrens director with some personality.....just sayin'.

Girl, she looks just like you when you wanted Scott to buy that Paramore song for Rock Band! And we do need to play again.

I get it, Santa can be a little scary. Poor thing. It's nice you have a Miss Sherry. :)

Do you think she learned that face from here Momma? Hmmm? Or can you blame it all on your husband? Just wonderin'.

Caroline is just adorable. The face of an angel...an angel who pouts. lol

Cutie pie.

She looks JUST LIKE YOU! How did I never notice that before? Oh, and Caroline has the same little Christmas outfit. Adorable...

Oh, no, Trish did not try to break up Gabe and Caroline. I will take her down. You know I will.

Clearly we need to make some announcements, so no one else gets any ideas. Humph.

God gave you Libbey first for a reason. So you'd have more.

If Gabe would've been first, he'd a been an only, for sure. No matter that I wanted four children. See, Gabe and Caroline are meant for each other!

I am lovin' that pout! And Michelle is right: you did look just like that!

I love it!!! She is soooo adorable!
You need one more girl to add to the mix...it's amazing how they will each be so different.

I was very afraid of Santa when I was her age...and all people in costumes for that matter...she will grow out of it!

I think we have pictures of one of my sisters in those exact same poses! She was very shy and very not cooperative at times. We called her "The Judge" 'cause she was always so solemn. She's all grown up now .. and is the sweetest thing (except when she's telling me how old I am, 'cause she's 10 years younger than me), not really shy at all anymore, and has a wicked sense of humor lol .. so maybe there's hope for the future? ;)

What is it with Santa? He's supposed to be all jolly and friendly, but he's always scaring small children. It's just not right. Lucky you had Miss Sherry to save the day! I don't think we'll be doing a Santa visit this year, somehow I doubt my girl would respond very well.

It's hard to be upset with a face like that. She's adorable. Even when she's pouting. And I want a polka dot shirt like that. Do you think it would be as cute on a 32 yr old woman? I'm thinking yes. Peace. Out.

How adorable is she, even w/that infamous pout! I love her little outfit and I know she had a good time. Maybe next year she will be more receptive to Santa.

Aww Bless her heart...that's what a good southern woman says about kids who are "acting up"!! I remember these times with my own daughter! ahhhhhh the sweet memories! (these incidences usually ended when I bent down....while still smiling my sweet little momma smile....and whispered in the sweetest little voice..."if you don't straighten your ass up this instant, young lady, you WILL get a spankin!"

Kids!
Gotta Love em! (well....most of the time!)

OK, seriously, no one is laughing their tale off that you are busy snapping photos for your blog of your kid stomping on Santa's toe and scratching his eye balls out...anyone? Anyone? I love it!

Of course, really it's to use against her when she's either A) 16 or B) a mom. But the blogging comes first, now doesn't it?

I want to be the one taking pictures of the mom taking pictures of the blessed event...

What a cutie. I love her spunk and sass.. wonder where she gets that from?

She looks just like you!! I don't blame her about Santa though, he was pawing at her.....hehe!

Ha! Cute post! Your Caroline reminds me of my own 3 year old, Amanda. She is uses the EXACT same expressions. In fact, this year was the FIRST year she "agreed" to sit on Santa's lap. But actually, I don't blame them for being scared of an old, bearded, geezer. Ya know?

Ah yes. I have one of those myself, also three, although, he will tell you he is five.

Why is it that our second children are so much like us? Damn karma. And they are cute so that we don't staple them to the ceiling. That's what I keep telling Madalyn, anyway.

And I love that you have arranged marriages for both girls. Were any farm animals promised??

Love the thumb sucking lip pouting pic!!! She's a sweetie even when she is pouting. Peace to all!!!!!

She is SO cute! I love the photo of her sucking her thumb with her finger alongside her nose, so precious!
