My Secret Weapon.

My Christmas gift to you--a recipe that I very rarely share, because I'm stubborn and like to keep all the good ones for myself. But not this year, as I'm feeling very generous and of much good cheer. And because I love y'all a whole lot.

So I stumbled onto your blog from Elena Manwaring's (my sister). I just thought it was very funny how when I clicked the crockpot candy recipe, the smilebox add said "Control Diabetes the natural way". It made me laugh so I had to share. -- Quin

Thanks Lula for sharing this recipe. You know I'm gonna make it for my family get together cause it can be cooking while I'm screaming around here with the vacuum trying to look like we are neat people for that one day when the family comes.

You are so sweet to share. I love the background for the recipe and the girls' photo. Those dresses are way too cute.

I'm sitting on a secret weapon as well. The 100 year old recipe for caramel cake handed down in my family. It's amazing. My sweet, old grandmother would hunt me down and kill me if I shared it.

I've never made candy before. I always thought of it as too "hard" (no pun intended), but since you said "crock pot", I might have to try it.

Maybe you should make some for Rob and ship it to London. I'm sure he'd call you for a smoke then.

Easy recipe...wish I had the ingredients.... ugh. And I have never heard of German Choc. bars....

Heather and I are totally on the same wavelength: the monogrammed jumpers are the first thing I noticed!

I'm surprised Scotty isn't monogrammed. I'm surprised that's not the tattoo you chose. I know how you love you some monograms!

So, does this candy harden when it cools? And then you just chop it up? I'm a little clueless here; help a girl out. It sounds heavenly!

Oooooo that sounds delicious, but I think that might make all my hard work on Weight Watchers the last 3 weeks disappear. So for now I will just imagine what it tastes likeand be jealous of those skinnier than me...

sounds good, too bad we are a nut free family! I the literal sense! We are all nuts, just can't eat them.

I'm officially lusting after this crock pot candy. It probably doesn't help that I'm PMSing. lol.

Of course, I can't eat chocolate or peanuts so...I may have to find a way to substitute this!!

Awesome.

Hi Lula - I'm making this recipe. I just have a few questions. The chocolate chips, is that the 24 ounce size? Also, the German chocolate bar, is that the 4 ounce size? And, the almond bark... I have a 20 ounce package which is pretty huge, is that all I need or do I need two of those?

Unknown said...

don't think i won't use this. tomorrow.
