It Makes Me Happy.

I just wanted to let y'all know that I am wearing these shoes for the first time tonight. I'm fully expecting to turn a few heads. My evening will be complete if a gay man gives my feet a compliment. Because that particular man will know...he will get me...and I will feel a sense of pride so sassy it literally curls my eyelashes. (And please know I do not mean this in a derogatory manner--it's just the few gay men I've actually known have all had tremendous taste in foot apparel...I trust them implicitly!)

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Check out this award I got from Kat...she's one of my favorite bloggers, just so y'all know. Go read her, if you're not currently a fan. Anyway, apparently she thinks I'm popular. Or our mutual peeps do...thanks, mutual peeps! For the record, I'm not. Nor was I in high school. My best friend was the popular gal...as in Homecoming Queen, Most Likely To Be IT (she won many "Most Likely" awards--I'm just condensing them!), etc. This is my first award of such magnitude. I am truly honored and thankful. And now you're all invited to my house for pumpkin crisp, pumpkin spice coffee, and a big ol' Twilight lovefest. Thanks, Kat...but I really want this crown...the actual crown. It's all starry and multicolored and totally ME!
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Jason Statham. I'm just sayin'.
Photobucket Y'all know I was due...it's been a long time since I've given him a shoutout! What also makes me happy is that last week while walking out of the grocery store, one of the teenagers from my church (who works at the store) handed me a rolled up poster..."It's from The Bank Job...take it!" You've never seen two hands snatch faster than mine...awwwww yeah. Got me some Jason for our movie room!

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Two weeks ago, Lauren from A Life of Delight (another must-read!), posted about getting ready for fall. In that post she had a picture of an embroidered hand towel with an owl on it...I immediately e-mailed her, pleading, "Please tell me where you got that hand towel! I must have it! Anthropologie? Urban Outfitters? I want one!" (I get kind of dramatic at times.) Lauren replied, "I made it. Want one?"

Why yes, yes I do. And you are awesome! One week later I received a very lovely package in the mail...not only did Lauren send me custom-designed, handmade owl towels (!), she also created the most fabulous magnets for me! You have to see her handiwork:

They're almost too pretty to use--but Lauren has convinced me. Use them I must! And then these magnets:
I love that she gets me...the Georgia Bulldog, the peach, that adorable owl (I think they're my new favorite animal!), and...ahem...a skull and crossbones with a bow. Yep. That's ME! Thanks again, Lauren...you are indeed talented, generous, and loving. I heart you!
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Did a little Christmas shopping recently. Mama Dawg (yet another must-read!) has created some truly wonderful works of jewelry, among other items, and it's all on sale in her Etsy shop. Go there. Get stuff. I am now the owner of the most beautiful earrings. Remind me to take a picture of my adorned ears, 'cause it's truly a sight to behold! Yep, it makes me happy!

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I could go on and on about all that fills my life with glee, but I'll end with this:

Do not fear for our future, y'all. We are in good hands. This was sent to me by Kat's daughter, Katie. She and I have a little thing going...we kind of dig our Edward. (But really...who doesn't?) Thanks, Katie...I always knew I liked you. Now go out and conquer the world some more, please!

Happy Thursday, everybody...wanna share what makes you happy? By all means...

you crack me up! I love those things Lauren sent you and I am a bit envious...or rather jealous! They are super cute!

And I hope your gay friends tell you how fab those shoes are, because they are... my gay friends in college used to call me a diva...and those days are LONG gone... I have no cool clothes anymore.

Yay! Who cares about high school! You're popular NOW! (I voted for you, of course)

Those shoes look awesome, but you must know, that when you and I go out together. I'll be wearing my Birkenstocks. You'll look good, but I'll be comfy. ;)

You sound happy now! Or did you write that before?? Listen those shoes are so cute and I just saw in InStyle or some magazine while I was at the checkout Sarah J. Parker with these awesome pink pumps on and I thought, "I need to get me some of those." And look, you already did. I'm not a gay man but I'm giving them the thumbs up. :)

Those shoes are quite pinkalicious! And I love that Edward button that Katie made you...I did vote for you on Kat's blog. Since we live so close, I thought it might actually be possible. =)

Jason Statham. Sigh.

Amazon is keeping Edward away from me. We can't see each other until Saturday. I almost called you yesterday so you could cheer me up, but I had coffee and took a walk. It was good, but not the same. I heart Edward!

My hubby would call those F-Me shoes, which is a total compliment. LOVE the owl towels! Too cute ;0)

Oh, I am lovin' those shoes. But I gotta say my back hurts just looking at them (I'm just getting too old).

I love those magnets. I am a magnet freak, with about 50 of them on my frig holding up various pictures and kids artwork and schedules, etc.

Thanks for the heads-up on the Twilight music. I can't wait to buy that soundtrack!

(Still eating pumpkin crisp this morning; man that stuff is good!)

Congrats on being Miss Popular!

Just two words... I think you'll know why.

Thank You

First, there is no way that my Fred Flintstone feet would fit into those shoes. They are sooo used to Crocs and Birks they really rebel when they are shoved into anything else.

And I did not "give" you your award. You earned it. Cause everyone wants to stalk you. And eat lunch with you :-)

Katie is beside herself with glee at getting mentioned on the great almighty Lula's blog. I wouldn't be surprised if she shows up after her classes today to comment. Just note that you've been warned :-)

Well, those towels are to die for! And the magnets are all perfect.

Those shoes, though, are...fabulous. Words escape me. I am not a gay man, but I completely appreciate the sass.

Love the shoes, but I wouldn't dare stumble around in them. I've gotten much too casual in my thirties.

Without doubt I voted for you. You are fabulous. You have great taste in shoes, men, cakes and of course books. And I WANT that crown too.

I'm actually gathering a few of my favorite things for Kat's swap...I need to get in the mail by Monday. Eeeek!

Oh and it's only 50 DAYS to Edward on the big screen...woot! I just love your lil' countdown widget!

Oh man, there is no way I would try to wear those shoes. My toes started hurting while I was looking at them. Not to mention, I could trip over a piece of lint. Not healthy in shoes with that much heel on them.
BUT you will be one hottie wearing them.
Things that make me happy.

Fall foilage colors
Family get togethers
the sound of my children giggling

that's just a few.

Those shoes are fabulous. Its been so long since I wore heels that just looking at them makes me nervous, but I just know you're gonna knock em dead with those things! Congrats on the award! Know that it is because you are such a fun, insightful and interesting person!

First...I LOVE the shoes!

Second, what makes me happy is that you love the earrings and that you gave me a shout out in your blog! Thanks so much for that! I'm working on some new products that should be up in a couple of weeks. Check back then.

If a gay man doesn't tell you how sexy those shoes are I will make sure my husband does. Because he knows his shoes. Those are HOT girl. I sure hope you're feeling better to go out on the town tonight in Vegas. All your shout outs are sweet. I'm going to check 'em out. LOVED the Edward/Lemon sign.

Loving those shoes! That buckle accent is perfect, and the peep-toe... Wonderful :)
Congrats on being crowned Miss Popularity!
I'm glad that you have found your inner-owl-lover and that you're actually going to use those towels! :D

Love, love the shoes! Where did you find those beauties? You will certainly turn heads in them!

I love your new award from Kat and Kat's daughter. Look at you all blinged out. And those shoes, oh man, to die for! Serious, how do you walk in them?!

Fun post.

Okay, cliche answers first....Jesus, My hubby, my kids, and my cat make me happy.

Now onto the things that tickle my fancy.....new purses. Just got a really cute one with my initials embroidered on it. Mexican food makes me happy. Especially when it has cheese and sour cream in excess. Sleeping in makes me very happy. Going on vacation alone with my hubby. My down filled body pillow makes me super duper happy.......is that enough? Can you tell I haven't blogged and needed to write a post on your comment section.

Love ya.....have fun!

Man, I suck at the craft stuff. The extent of my Hobby Lobby shopping is premade decorations and glue.

Shoes. LUV them. And so true. I worked with a TON of 'em. They totally know their stuff.

Hint: get some Body Glide. I use it for marathons for *uh um, chafing. Slide it all over your feet and you will get not one meanie blister in those FAB foxXy shoes.

Jori-O said...

The shoes are fabulous! You'll be one HAWT mama! You've got a great happy list!

Kim said...

Oh my gosh! Me and my flat feet in those shoes...not gonna happen! I'm sure I would never get my foot in there first of all and secondly if I did I couldn't stand to take the first step! But they are pretty to look at!

And to all of your fans who want to meet you and have lunch with you...you must be soooo jealous of me! Not only do I know Lula, but we "do lunch" as often as we can.
In all honesty, I do consider myself blessed to have such a wonderful, creative and fun-loving, and God-fearing friend!

FYI... Those are the sexiest shoes I've ever seen. I feel that I must go out and get a pair. Right now.

Those shoes are off the cuff! Did you get the compliment you were hoping for?

Things that make me happy include fuzzy socks in bright colors, chocolate in just about any variety and cool Fall days.
