Gnawing My Toes.

I fully realize this means diddly squat to about 99% of you. OK, probably all of you, with the exception of the brilliant Cara, who has impeccable taste when it comes to habits involving the small screen. (Unless Greg is reading, in which case I will not leave him out--hey, Greg! The wait is over! Wooooooooo!)

Tonight is a very, very, very big deal for me.

Wait, quit skimming. Did you hear what I said?

Tonight is a very, very, very big deal for me.

It's the first of the final 10 episodes of my beloved Battlestar Galactica. The critically acclaimed and universally lauded Battlestar Galactica. The hour of television too complex to be pigeonholed into a mere "Science Fiction" label, because it's so much more than that. Seriously, it's the best show out there...right after Lost, that is.

I'll have no toenails by the time the show airs tonight.

Again, since I'm aware this evening's epic return to all things BSG is not a big deal to y'all (and I forgive you for this!), I'll pose a question. Other than Lost, whose return next Wednesday is being anxiously awaited by all sane, level-headed people on Earth proper, what show(s) are you looking forward to this season? Personally I cannot wait for the premiere of Joss Whedon's latest, Dollhouse, and Mad Men is absolutely my newest addiction. Oh, and The Tudors? Why yes, it's brilliant.

Love me...love my not-so inner geeky, Sci-Fi loving self.

Happy weekend, y'all!

Okay Lula, I've never heard of any of those shows. I mean I've heard of BG, but never seen it. I will say I ordered all the books you recommended, I think that should count for something. Right?

I gotta agree with Amy. I have never heard of those shows either. You must have the "fancy" channels. I have had to eliminate most of my beloved shows because they proved to be far too stressful. I could no longer handle the stress of waiting to see what was going to happen on Grey's or Prison Break, 2 of my previous favorite shows.
I love House because everything is figured out and "fixed" by the end of the show. We watch American Idol, lots of food network, Anthony Bourdain, etc. Geeky? Probably...but definitely stress-free.

I have never watched the current Battlestar Galactica but I used to watch it back in the olden days long, long ago. I'll have to check it out. But honestly, right now I'm readying myself for next WEDNESDAY!!!! My highest priority is getting enough barricades to keep my children out of my room.

LOST, LOST, LOST!!!!

BTW, I just watched the season finale again for LOST's last season...and I'm left pondering some questions.

What bad things happened on the island after Jack left and why are they all his fault (like Ben said)?

Why does everyone have to return to the island, including Locke's dead body?!!

Why can't Ben go back?

Okay, you know this is where you and I differ. I'm just not much of a TV person, other than Lost and the occasional HBO series (man, I miss Trueblood).

Have fun with your beloved BSG tonight. Does Scotty watch it with you, or is he up in his manroom by then?

Just wonderin'.

You're my sci-fi sweetheart! I need to Netflix BSG. I've never watched it. (Don't hate me.) I'm sure I would love it. And will we make to next week?? HOORAY!!! Have you ever read Prey or Time Line (I think they are Michael Crichton)? If not, I think you'd like them.

I didn't know Joss had a new series in the works. My dh love BSG and I do watch it with him. Did you watch Firefly? I didn't discover it until after it went off the air, but I have the whole thing on DVD.

I have not watched BSG either. But I started watching Firefly yesterday. Till I realized that my kitties had disconnected something again...because I don't think that the show is in black and white.

I watched the "enhanced" version of LOST last night...oh, I soooo cannot wait till Wednesday. That fight scene in the safe house in the preview...oh, wow!

I am anxiously awaiting the return of Big Love on Sunday. And the return of Fringe on Tuesday. I don't watch much tv...but it all starts again this week.

Oh...and we just added back HBO for Big Love. And I wanted to watch True Blood...but they aren't re-running them yet.

So THAT'S why my daughter was chewing her toes last night .. so much so they bled.

And here I was just thinking she was crazy. Now I know she was just excited about tv =-)

I'm still buying that bitter no more chewing your nails stuff. I'll just teach her my Overly Excited Happy Dance instead. Mucho Healthier =-)

I am not a BSG gal but I do love Mary McDonnell and that guy Michael Trucco. I have no clue what this is even about but you have me intrigued enough to go look it up. And Mad Men. Me, my shows are back like 24. That's my fav. And I am awaiting Prison Break. Major hotties in that.

I do love your sci-fi loving geekiness.

Well, I ditched Grey's and Desperate Housewives a few weeks ago. The Doctor Drama is getting a bit much, and Desperate is getting creepier and creepier. Still trying to keep up with Brothers & Sisters (I guess I've been an ABC girl recently!), and really looked forward to the return of American Idol. Although it's a tad weird with that new judge, and all.

I am looking forward to Dollhouse as well. I loove the Office, and I think that new show called Lie to Me looks interesting.

I don't like Lost. I'm sorry. I hang my head in shame.

The other shows I absolutely loved are Top Chef and Project Runway, but sadly, we just gave up our cable to save money for our adoption.

I love BG and Lost! My two favorite shows right after Blues Clues...remember people, I have a 14 month old.

Who do you think the final Cylon is?

(sorry about above, I was multi-tasking...poorly)

Battlestar Galactica? You rock. But then again, you already know that! Now here's one for ya - what about the beloved "Buck Rogers?" I used to watch him as a kid and love the episodes. Yes, I'm a geek! LOL Have a great weekend Lula!

Sneaking a few bloggy minutes this morning before the house wakes up. By now, you have seen BSG and are completely in the know. I am still clueless and a sad, tortured soul for it. How could I pick the very weekend that BSG returned to vacation in a rental property WITHOUT Sci-Fi. It's tragic, I tell ya.

PS - Got Graceling from the library yesterday!

Project Runway: pick a channel already! That's the only show I will sit down and watch repeatedly. I'm interested in The Tudors after reading Philippa Gregory's books. I think I'll try to get that from Blockbuster b/c doesn't it come on HBO? We don't do the (more) expensive cable.

I haven't seen Battlestar Gallectica for (could it be??) 20 years? I loved it before but don't have the SciFi channel. Sad.
