Where I've Never Gone Before.

*I preface this post by emphatically stating that I am not a crafty person. At all. Yes, I have a scrapbooking room, but I have not scrapped in almost two years, and scrapping does not make one crafty. Just as being in Victoria's Secret does not make one Heidi Klum. You know...

This is what I do with all the many photo cards we receive each Christmas. I refuse to throw them away, but what good are they doing anyone tucked away in some dark drawer or a forgotten album? And let's not even speak of the fact that we've all spent the big bucks to show off our family's image each year. Even cheap photo cards are not cheap!

I take each card and trim the superfluous stuff, leaving only the beauty of the face(es) smiling back at me. Then each picture is stuck into one of these nifty little French memo boards. This one is in my bathroom. Look at all those famous bloggers up there--I'd list and link 'em, but I'm too lazy. Feel free to out yourselves in the comment section!

This one is in my laundry room. And the deal is this: send a photo card and you get your picture put up for an entire year. But the best part is that not only do I lovingly glance at y'all while brushing my teeth or separating whites and brights, I also pray for the families represented in each photo. And I thank God for each of you. I do!

Now I'm off to make a birdcage built out of popsicle sticks. (Quick, Lizzy--what movie is that from???) It's unchartered territory, indeed.

*I am going to be bold here and ask you praying peeps to lift up my dearest Kori, please. Because I love her and she needs comfort, strength, and healing in her life right now, and all I can do is pray.

Okay, trying this again. Blogger has it out for me.

I LOVE that idea with the photos and am totally doing it now.

And I am praying for your friend, I hopped over to her blog and got caught up. My goodness. I'm heartbroken and praying God will show off His power.

Stopping in from SITS - I have a box of these cards tucked away in a dark, scary place. Hmmm... Maybe someday I'll pull them out and do something with them.

What a great idea! I love it, and am so going to do it next year (this year's pics have tape all over them from being up in our living room).

I have praying practically non-stop for Kori; she has been on my heart since reading her post yesterday.

Seriously, I know God never gives us more than we can handle, but does He have to give Kori so many burdens? Jeez.

We have this Southern Living card hanger thing. I have all my cards on that. But what a powerful thing to pray for all of us.

I am so praying about Kori.

Love your super craftiness! Now I need to copy it! Can you please invent something for me to organize all of those miscellanious things I keep stashed in my kitchen drawer? Thanks! LOL

DUDE! This is so the reason I didn't send out cards this year. I just knew someone would be going number 2 while straining and staring at our families picture. Oh gee I knew there was a good reason.

I love you Lula like no other. And Now I know I have reached Rockstar prayer status when I am listed in a post on your blog despite the fact that I have a chocolate covered spoon on my nose.

#1 = THE PARENT TRAP!!!!!!!!

#2 = What are you going to do when I send you a 11x13 picture of The Ladies & I?

#3 = Regarding Kori. Yeah. It's a good thing God can handle me being mad at Him, cause I AM. But I AM praying too. I'm all chaotic & twirly like that.

And I am praying, I am so praying!

You have catapulted the redhead to stardom...I no longer need Star Search. Thank you.

I was looking at the stack of Christmas cards just yesterday wondering what to do with them. I was thinking I would throw out all of the generic cards and keep the picture ones, but I hadn't even considered something like this. You are a crafty genius! Even if you won't admit it.

The Parent Trap- With Haley Mills, not LiLo.
I have NEVER done one of those photos because getting all 5 kids looking in one direction at a time would be a disaster! Some people sent me some of those this year with multiple shots on one print and it made me consider....
I do the same thing. I trim all the "Christmas" off of the pictures and post them around the house. I figure, someone cared enough to send it to me....

Oh wow, I feel so bad for Kori. Prayers it is!!!!!!!!!!!! And you do have a little crafty sass in you girl! Very nice idea!! Makes me wish I had sent a photo card this year :)

I just left Kori a note telling her she is in my prayers.

I came over to see your blog bling. THANK YOU! I can't believe the response we are getting. I'm excited.

Now, I need to get some whiskey.

I do the same thing with mine, well, almost. I have a wire photo holder thing from Pottery Barn that mounts on my wall that I stick all my pics up on. They stay up all year and I pray for those people. Great minds think alike!

Well, I have to get my picture to you, although do you already have several, but I did not send them to you, so I can be on your bathroom door and you can think of me while you have a charlie horse! I swear, I will remember that forever.

I have been praying for Kori non stop for a while now and will continue to do so. She is on my mind everyday day.
