First of First.

Today my eldest is an official first grader, and I'm feeling mushy, gushy, and generous. It's freebie time here at Lulaville--Back to School style!

Here's the goods:

A Vera Bradley medium cosmetic bag in the new Puccini print. Think of it as your new little tote for the essential supplies, whether you're in school, at work, or working in your home.
Smith's Rosebud Salve is the balm for what ails...chapped lips, ragged cuticles, small cuts or burns, diaper rash, windblown cheeks...it's pink-hued wonder in a nifty little tin.

You really need Sephora BODY Nourishing Hand Cream, especially with the cooler months rapidly approaching. I'm obsessed with keeping my hands hydrated, and this stuff is amazing.

I'll also throw in a few surprise goodies, because I'm a lover of "free gift with purchases" myself, and isn't it always a treat to receive something unexpected? I'm so like a 9 year old in this manner. May my inner child never fade!

If ya wanna get the goods, leave a comment. I don't care what you write...feel free to once again spread Twilight love, countdown the days 'til Lost returns (hint--it's on this blog!), suggest a new book for me to devour, tell me what your all-time favorite song is, WHATEVER. Just write me. Let me know my random drivel of yesterday didn't truly send y'all running for the hills.

I am first! That should count for something, right?

Your drivel is not random. It's delicious.

My eldest just started 10th grade. My baby is in 2nd grade! So I'm feeling pretty mushy myself.

I am a Georgia fan. That should count for something.

No, really. I just wanted to let you know I'm still alive--just having lots of work to do at home.

Take care.

Consider Twilight love spread. I am actually kind of re reading the last one because I speed read it. It's nice the second time around too. I also need a new book. I ordered that one you said, but it's not here yet.
Happy first day of school! We are still about 12 days away.
I loved your random facts, they're like those e mails people send around. I think they're fun. :)

My youngest has her first official day of preschool today. Sigh. But a giveaway, that's great!

I'm starting the LOST dvd's next week, woo hoo! And I'm currently reading Jen Lancaster's "Bright Lights, Big Ass". I cry tears of laughter almost everytime I read a chapter.

Hi Lula, I feel like I know you so well. We have a lot in common, Twilight, Lost, my sister Heather (This is the Day blogger). I don't blog myself I just read hers, yours, many others I find from her blog. She will call me and say "OMG, did you read Lula's blog yet today ...." So, any hoo, just leaving you a comment so maybe I can win something (hehe) and also to leave you a couple of book suggestions: Sunday at Tiffany's by James Patterson, I just finished, it was good. Odd Thomas by Dean Koontz, one of my favorites and the Ken Follett books Pillars of the Earth and World Without End, a couple of Heather's favs. Well nice to say hello, leave me a shout out on Heather's blog sometime.

Heather said...

Have you ever read The Outlander series by Diane Gabaldon? Seriously hot Scotsman in a kilt, with sex, drama, laughter all rolled up into an awesome book, with four sequel books to follow after you get hooked. Much more detailed than Twilight, therefore a bit longer to read, but they are awesome!

I could really use me some Vera Wang. And my hands are very dry (hint, hint).

Thanks for fulfilling my request (see todays post on my blog). I can always count on you for a smile and a laugh and some Lula love. And thanks especially for the "smokin hot" comment. I'm not sure what ya'll smoke in the hills of Virginia, but I'd like me some o' that :)

Heather said...

OMG, too funny, me and my sister were commenting at the same time. I just published my post when she had done hers; now I'm on the phone with her while she watches the Twilight spoof trailer on Heather's post. Laughing hysterically, almost peeing my pants. You girls are so what I needed today.

That swag looks fabulous! I just finished Twilight and immediately got New Moon. I'm loving this series. So glad you guys opened my eyes to it!

As much as I would love to write something cute and witty here, I've got nothing. I would also love to recommend a new book to you, but it seems that you get to all of them before I do, so that's no good either ;)... Take heart, however, in the fact that your randomosities did not in fact make me run for the hills :)

Kori said...

Thanks so much for stopping by my Blog. I read yours everyday. Although I don't comment much. Ya know you're kinda like a celebrity in the blogosphere. lol

And wether I win or not could you let me know where to get the Salve. Maybe something like that would help with the rash on richard's face. Thanks again.

Oh and by the way I soooo love your blog.

After all the hype (that I must have been under a rock to miss in the first place) in the blog world about the Twilight series, I made it my book club pick :)

Why I Deserve The Free Give Away Prize? By: Heather W.

I deserve the free give away prize because I have completely neglected my motherly, wifely and all other duties to read the Twilight Saga, thanks to you!!! I am obsessed and I think my husband and my kids, for that matter, think I am crazy. I dragged my 2 1/2 year old and 6 months old out in the rain to buy "New Moon". I just can't put it down. I love me some Edward!!!!! Remember this addicition when you are drawing names. Please let me know if there is some sort of Twilight Anonymous meeting I can attend!

Shelley said...

I'm thinking you would like the Outlander Series by Diane Gabaldon. Yum.

Hey don't forget to check out my Easy as 1-2-3 Chicken recipe on my blog. Then you can go to SITS and vote for me to win a prize....YAY I hope I win.
I'm not sure what the prize is, but YAY I need to win something.

My little angel, started 1st grade Monday and needless to say, she's having some adjustment issues (what with us just moving here and all). But I went to the school to have lunch with her yesterday and she said, Mom, could you not come to lunch tomorrow, I want to sit with my friends. What's up with that?

When I saw the pic and read your first sentence I was going to comment on how snappy your first grader would be with that pencil case. But now, I am thinking how snappy my diaper bag would be!

Mama Dawg said...

4 words for you:

halfway through breaking dawn.

Yeah, Wal-Mart finally restocked last night and I was able to get my hot little hands on it.

Whoo-hoo. Stayed up way tooooooo late to get where I am, but it was worth it. I get a 15 minute break in just a couple of minutes and I'm taking it with me to read!

My daughter would KILL for the Vera Bradley bag. She loves Vera Bradley. I don't like it so much, but if I win this, she'd get it. She already has a lunch bag, a purse, a wallet and a keychain. All purchased with her own money (except for the wallet, that was a birthday gift from our neighbors).

Yeah, my daughter's cool like that.

Keys to the Magic Travel said...

New crack. Well...two someones have suggested the Outlander series - which I will second. But you still need to read Dark Lover and the Black Dagger Brotherhood series. And I have found a series for after that - Lords of the Underworld by Gena Showalter. Yum. All of 'em.

My email is kelseyhs@go-concepts.com .

I'd love to hear from you :)

So, is she excited about her first day of school? Alex was thrilled on his first day!

I have semi-started Twilight, btw.... haven't had a chance to really delve into it yet, though. You sure are some enabler! :)

Heather said...

I can't stand NOT to comment on one of your posts, but I'll gracefully stand aside since I won the last giveaway (which was uber fabulous, btw).

Have you read Jen Lancaster? She is on her fourth book now, but Bitter is the New Black was her very popular first. So.incredibly.funny.

Great prizes. So with you on the dry hands. I lube up at least 8 x a day. I have lotion at my desk, in the kitch & in the car. Dry hands feel like dirty hands to me. Good luck with your little one!!! It's an exciting time.

Oh Lula. Lula. Lula. Lula. How do I love thee? Let me count the ways....I love you for your taste is books, bags, and babes.
Twilight is the paper love of my life right now.
Vera is the fabric of my heart.
Sawyer is the quintessential hottie of the most genius hour of television since the premiere of Twin Peaks....snap, snap, snap.

BTW, random trivia here. Did you know that Shelley just moved away from the same town that I live in now and that her and her lovely family were dear members of our little teensy church? 6 degrees of separation.....

Trish said...

Luuuullaaaa...........I LOVE YOU! (done in my best Ricky Ricardo voice)

Okay, don't know where that came from. (except maybe the bottom of my heart?)

Twilight love is being spread all over Clark County, WA as fast as I possibly can.

Another fun and easy read is Mrs. Perfect by Jane Porter. It is a funny piece of fiction that hit just a little close to home for me...............

Random drivel is good.

I hope little Libby enjoys her first day of first grade!!!

I like winning gifts.

I don't know enough about you or your site to say if you speak drivel, but personally, I'm a big fan of drivel. It's very relaxing and a much needed source of calm in these trying times.

Without a certain measure of nonsense, we'd all be worse off.

Shannon said...

You didn't scare me off! I like reading your drivel :)

Fab giveaways!

I am strangely attracted to the Vera Bradley cosmetic bag....its trippy. ;)

I wish I could say THANKS for introducing me to Land Shark, but I can't because I now love one more thing that I need to stock up on, because the owner of my local liquor store doesn't carry it. The grocery stores don't carry it around here. However, I did find it about 45 minutes away. So, great, now I have to drive 45 minutes to enjoy the greatness!

Also you introdeuced me to Edward, and he has visited me in my dreams...I NEED SLEEP! I HAVE FOUR KIDS!

What else will I get addicted to? The pink stuff in the nifty tin can? Or the hand cream? Actually I really need a cute pouch...

Dana D said...

This Carolina Girl that went to college in NE Georgia wants to win!!!

Unknown said...

Okay! I definitely deserve to win! I am the saddest, gushiest, mushiest etc. I have left my baby 4 1/2 hours away, and had to put my 9 year old dog to sleep all within 24 hours. So, if you are giving the gifts on sadness, I think I win!

Vicki said...

I want it all and I won't let anything stand in my way. We grew up in the same town. We both know what EDIMGIAFAD means. I will even say "Go Dawgs" if I win, and you know I'll probably get slapped for that.

I'm heading over to random.org to mess with their code.

I loved yesterday's post...and I'd love to win that Vera Bradley bag!

Hope your son had a great first day of first grade.

Angela said...

Oooh, what a pretty Vera pattern!

Unknown said...

You will probably be mortified at my comment, but I don't even know what "Twilight" is all about. Isn't it a book about vampires? Not real sure.

Anyway, don't hate me because of that because I still would like to win the goodies.

You can enlighten me about "Twilight" later.

Leigh of Tales from Bloggeritaville said...

Well Lula!

What a divine giveaway. How totally cool are you? So!
Well...hmm...what to say. Y aknow one of my favorite things is a meme.
Since you are my newest bloggy fran (by way of the mz wonderful herself, drama mama!) lets do a questionarre...
I will fill my answers, you tell me yours. Really...its to fill space but dont tell.
Four, Four, Four, Four...

A) Four places that I go to over and over: grocery store, gas station, moms, San Antonio Grill meixcan restaurant(all convenient-save on gas)

B) Four people who regularly e-mail me: Sandie, mom, blogger frans, clematis club members

C) My favorite places to eat: moms, Ichiban's, Mario's in Jacksonville, and Nabeels

D) Four places I'd like to be right now: On a Mediterranean cruise to Greece; US Virgin Islands-island hopping, Abacos Bahamas, Port St Joe/St George Island

E) Four people you will tag: ???? really?

F) Four TV shows I watch all the time: Just about anything on HGT , anything on TLC, Animal Cops, Seinfeld reruns

G) Top four priorities in life are: God, Family, Friends, fun

H) Four people I would like to meet in my lifetime: author Kathryn Tucker Windham (met her but need more time), Jimmy Buffett, Charles Barkley, Stevie Nicks

I)If you could bring back the dead, what four would you invite over to chat with? Jesus Christ (but he isn't dead, he has risen! so not sure that counts), Eleanor Roosevelt. I am one that cannot stand to have answers, so I would want to talk to two people that went missing, so that their families could have answers and peace. I won't name them here, but if you read my blog-you know who they are.

J) Four favorite pieces of Clothing: flip flops, a comfy t shirt, hoop earrings and a good supportive bra is a friend of mine. It may not be comfortable, but it sure beats the alternative.

K)If you were stuck on a dessert island, what four Cd's would you hopefully have with you?
Kenny Chesney:Live:Those songs again, Monsters of Rock Platinum Edition, Some 70's songs CD stuff like I'd Really Like to see you Tonight, Diamond Girl, Island Girl a bunch of singers and songwriters stuff, and finally Jimmy Buffett Meet Me In Margaritaville: The Ultimate Collection you cannot be on an island without some Jimmy. This was a hard one because I like so many.

L) You can have four things for breakfast, what do you order? Who thinks of this stuff? Well, I am not a big breakfast eater. But, if I had my choice....homemade buttermilk biscuits with butter, hash browns or a beignet or homemade granola-basically any starch. Oh! But I do love fruit! Dang, that is five......

M) Four things you often say: "Oh, have mercy!". "Bless her Heart", "Please and Thank you" (my momma taught me well) and "Love you!"

OK, space filler fun.

I just love your blog. Lotsa fun around here....stop by my island anytime!

What to write? I could leave something generic, "Ooh, great giveaway...enter me!" I could write a gushing statement about how much I can't wait until Lost or Twilight, but to be honest, I'm not a fan of either. I, however, am pumped that today marks the first day of college football. I'm going to plop myself in front of the TV on Saturday and watch football while doing homework. Boomer Sooner!
