Mad Musical Monday.

Are y'all ready for an admission? Promise you won't think I'm super-psycho? (Kelly, I know you will...just go with it and still be my friend.) I'm going public with some musical appreciation that I've selected for a very special playlist on my Pod. Only a select few are aware of its existence. Internets, feel the love...get your groove on...it's time for songs from my Vampire Soliloquy.

Yes, I said it. I have a "vampire playlist" on my iPod.

It's been there for a long while, with songs coming & going wherever my whims take me on a particular day. Many of you who are reading or have read the Twilight Saga are aware of Stephenie Meyer's musical playlists for each book, posted on her website. Some of her choices are on my Vampire Soliloquy, because she has fantastic taste in music and I dig the same stuff. And then I have songs I've loved for years, new stuff I've just discovered, and recommendations from fellow friends.

This music makes for great reading, y'all. And pool lounging. And blogging. And late-night drives. Good music. Good times. And part of the soundtrack of my life.
Allow me to share, please:

"Your Guardian Angel" by Red Jumpsuit Apparatus. It's sweet. Touching. Tender. Very Edward and Bellaesque. Teenage love and angst. I'll say no more.

"For Me This is Heaven" by Jimmy Eat World. One of the most underrated love songs. Ever. Almost too sweet to be vampy, but it's on the list anyway.

The Fray's Look After You. The newest addition to my playlist, thanks to a song-savvy pal. There is no video for this song, however some genius fan uploaded pictures of the band, as well as the song's lyrics on You Tube. Go ahead...watch...see if you don't get all mushy-gushy inside. The lyrics in Look After You just slay me. Yes, they do.

Other tunes on my Soliloquy include:
"On Your Side"--Luna Halo
"Learning to Breathe"--Switchfoot
"Stolen"--Dashboard Confessional
"Blackout," "Hysteria," and "Falling Away With You"--Muse
"The Scientist"--Coldplay
"Letting the Cables Sleep" and "Out of This World"--Bush
"The Kill"--30 Seconds to Mars
"Mad World"--Gary Jules
"Bring Me to Life"--Evanescence
"6 Underground"--Sneaker Pimps
"So Alive"--Love & Rockets

Just to name a few. Are y'all getting the gist of my love of music? Yeah, it's a very big deal to me.

Are y'all still my friends, or have I completely scared you off?

Are you kidding? You couldn't scare me off if you tried. Well, maybe if you tried real hard...
Anyway, I have been lovin' Stephenie's playlists; I let them play on my computer when I'm browsing the news or making my own blog posts. Love it. I hope they have a great soundtrack planned for the movie...I'm so buyin' that!

Genius playlist you've got going. And The Fray's Look After You is a top favorite of mine -- heavy rotation on the iPod, which I've named Petri. Not sure why. I name all my Apple products.

lol.

Love Mad Musical Monday!

are you kidding me? i have a hard time even imagining what you could say that would surprise me, but this ain't it. i haven't heard many of these songs, just the 2 or 3 that got overplayed to death (for real death, not like vampire half death).

I totally love that you made this. I am a music junkie. I just started (on book 3) this series. I hadn't given any thought to music to go with it. I love this and I am going to check out the ones I don't know and then go look at her site. Thank you!!

Can I add one? Under the Tracks-Creeper Lagoon

You know there's a big "Twilight" concert. It's sold out. I checked. It's not even coming to a town anywhere near me.

THIS is my kind of musical Monday. Not that the others weren't (except for the 80's one...*shudder*). I love your vamp mix and, as you know, I have one as well.

LOVE IT!!

I'd expect nothing less from you, Lula! You're one creative kind of gal. BTW, chica, I'm a "Twilight" girl now--shall we start a book group? Discuss.

Great mix! I love the ones I know and will definitely check out the others. I saw my first preview for Twilight this weekend, and I have to admit, it looked good.

Man... I desperately need to update my music... My poor little Zen has had the same stuff on it for far too long. I'll definitely be looking into these :)

I love The Fray. And Evanescence. She has an amazing voice. I wish I had pipes like that. But I just sing along. And pretend that I can. Even while the girls are screaming for me to stop.

You are so ecclectic in your music choices. I love it. That's so me. I haven't quite the plethera as that of you, but I will be going sometime today to pick up my copy of the first in the Twilight series as well as The Fray's latest album. Such good moody music. Saturday afternoon lazy day music.....

Hello there miss Lula -

I have to admit that I am ...lost. I no nothing of music. I have never downloaded music and the last album I bought was in the 90's.
Maybe you all should do some sort of semnar for me...I'll even pay you. I'm such an old, wind peeing, non-music loving dweeb.

I LOVE FRAY!! Oddly, I was turned onto Fray by my teenager. I actually love a lot of her music, she just drives me nuts, so it's hard to admit

I have no idea what these songs are. I am out.of.touch. with what the 'kids' are listening to these days. Thanks for the update.

The Fray, I think I've heard them before. That voice sounds so familiar. Oh yeah, How To Save A Life. Now this band I like.

Love Switchfoot too. Dare You To Move is another good one, but not so vampir-y.

Still love you! We just won't introduce this side of you to the little kids...after Lizzy's reaction, you know.

Nice tracks...

First time I've heard any of them. I rather like the sound of The Fray.

Nope not scared one bit. I actually liked some of these songs before I knew their Twilight association, now it just makes them that much better.

I might have to put together a list like this after I read the series. For now I am content with my paranormal list. Otherwise known as the X-Files (tv not movie) soundtrack. ;)

Weirdo.

Wow, Lula, I like that Fray song a lot. I am familiar with Fray and LOVED "Over My Head" but as soon as I saw their first music video was turned off a little bit. The lead singer looks like a twerp to me :)

That kind of cool, a vampire playlist. I like it.

Great Post!!!! You and my husband would get along like two peas in a pod. He is a huge music fan too. I swear he has to burn a cd everytime we leave the house. He calls it "Road Music". I love all your pics. Keep them coming!!! By the way my husband just bought me "Twilight". I can't wait to get into it!!!
