Redefining The Taking of The Cake.

My father-in-law loves nothing more than to watch people fall. He's even been known to purposely trip his grandchildren, for his own twisted giggles of glee. And now my daughters fancy viewing a good tumble, as well. The three of them fully believe that "America's Funniest Home Videos" is prime programming.

In honor of Scott Litton, Sr., aka "Poppy," I gift y'all with this bit of yumminess. No, not the confection upon which she body surfs. Watch 'til the end for your sweet reward.

I so love seeing famous folk bite the dust. Nothing personal against Katy Perry or anything. She's totally having her cake and eating it. Off the floor.

I've only watched this 17 times. It takes to little to amuse me, y'all.

We all need a mid-week chuckle. I hope this fills a small void in your day. Sincerely.

Now go forth and be happy.
(And as of today, it is officially less than one month 'til THE movie is released. You know of which film I speak. Yes, you do.)

Saw this one the news... can't understand why her song is so popular.... I laughed and laughed.

I bailed at Disneyland the other day... trying to get over the line chain... I should have realized CM did it with no effort because he is 6'5.

You would have laughed your butt off.

Ok, me and your FIL should sit ourselves in front of a computer and watch all the falling down clips on You Tube. Sounds like a party to me! And yeah, I've seen this clip quite a few times myself. Cause people falling down... funny.

(yes, I know which movie you speak of)

She kissed a girl and she liked it. I don't think slipping on a little cake bothers her much!

I love it when people fall down! I laugh so hard I can't breath. I don't do it to be mean, I can't help it.

Couple years ago at Xmas, one of the guests at my dad's house went through the fancy shmancy buffet of delicious delicacies and then bit it so hard his plate went flying and he went down like a ton of bricks. He was so embarressed he couldn't even eat. I've got the hiccups now cause I'm laughing so hard. In all fairness I laugh at myself too.

I'm getting my copy of Twilight tomorrow. I want to read it before the movie comes out. I felt it was my moral duty to report this to you.

AND I love watching people fall.

I'm sure you've seen the video of the Worst Best Man Ever, right? I felt a strong mix of both compassion and strange glee watching that video. lol.

THAT was hilarious. How have I not seen that yet? Thanks for sharing. Ya, falling down is pretty funny--although I have to admit it takes esteem of steel to laugh at yourself when it's done publicly!

Hehehe, I know, why is there something so funny about other ppl's embarrassments?? Lol!

I laughed and laughed. Especially since she is skinny and still couldn't get up.
Your FIL rocks.

You're so funny. I love your fil likes to watch people trip, that's hysterical. I liked the clip, although I don't quite understand what the importance of taking that little leap into the cake was. I don't understand. The fall was almost needed to make sense of the whole thing. :)

.....T minus 30 and counting.....:)

Oh my. Falling down, reminds me of the time the lunch lady fell with a tray full of chocolate pudding and lemon jell-o and it landed in the steam table water. No lie, it looked like a port-o-potty! We laughed so hard (not her) that as my other lunch lady friend always says "I think a little pee just came out". Between you and Heather today that is what is gonna happen to me.

Caroline said...

Oh man, we LOVE AFV in a huge way too. My favorite part of the show is when they show a whole string of clips to a song. I get laughing so hard, I about pee myself. Pelvic floor muscles just aren't the same after childbirth!

Thank God for a little laughter in the morning. Especially on a cold Wednesday morning. When I have to get up early and fix breakfasts and pack lunches and dress for a trip to a punkin patch (and all I wanna do is curl up under the covers and stay warm). Nope, still haven't turned on the heat. Joe says I will burn down the house since he hasn't "inspected" the furnace yet. I say get on it, or watch it burn! Just kidding. Kind of. At least we'd be warm...

I had a GREAT morning yesterday because of you. Thank you. And I cannot WAIT to check the mail this week! Early birthday presents are the best!

She fell because I put a spell on her for singing such a raunchy song. hee hee just kidding.

Oh, and only one month til we see Edward on the big screen *sigh* I am still on Eclipse and what I read last night (towards the end) just had me swooning even more. Every day I fall more and more....oh, stop!! I gotta stop..LOL!

OMG, please tell me she was not in a normal state of mind. Please tell me that possibly she had a bit of something something in her system. She is such a dip.

Kori said...

That was too funny. Thanks for the fits of giggles that followed.

I must agree people falling is so funny and I just can't help but laugh with/at AFHV's it cracks me up.
I love all the cake covered falling.

Brandy said...

Just as funny as the fall is the fact that when she jumped on the cake it hardly moved. That had to be like jumping against a brick wall...duh!

I CANNOT WAIT! Your countdown thingee haunts me.

Can't wait to see it when I get home later... much... much... later.

Oh girl, I know of which movie you speak. It IS being released for my bday ya know.

Beth said...

That's fab!

Sissy said...

It's her own fault, she jumped into the cake, right? What a moron. Seriously, what girl with common sense does that? Her momma taught her better, I'm sure.

Heather said...

I've never kissed a girl, so I'm not sure if I'd like it or not. But I DO know that if I slipped on frosting over and over AND OVER again on Telemundo, I would be mortified. I would definitely NOT like that.

Melissa said...

There will be no kissing of girls and liking it, unless they are my sweet little girls and we lovingly call that "stealing sugar".

Caroline, after having 3 children, I have just resorted to Poise pads. I cannot even cheer for my poor son at his soccer games without leakage. Kegels are the key, but I grimace when I'm kegeling and I don't want to give myself away to the other soccer moms......teehee.....

Live.Love.Eat said...

LOL. LOL. LOL. Between your video and mine, this is all I need today. They should have just gotten a giant spatula to get her off stage. Was that frosting fat free?

Maddness of Me said...

I know! I am totally on board with loving me some good dirt slams. Does that make me a sick and twisted person?

Just don't laugh at me when it happens to me. Oh hell no.

ps: I love you just a little more now that I know you're a cat person.

Who in the world handles her stage set-up. Seriously , they should be fired. Don't they know that a smooth stage with icing on it equals slipperyness. Get a clue!! For the rest of us I would like to thank the stage set-up guy. Because it just equals a good laugh to us.

This is definitely what I'd deem as "superfab!" Very funny. Yep, there are occasions when I've been known to laugh at people falling.

I've only watched it three times on Lulaville. I too am easily amused

Rhea said...

That was funny. It's more fun to watch famous people fall.

I fall all the time. I'm sadly a huge klutz. HUGE.

Maybe you'll get to witness this one day. In Ida-HO.

Ash said...

Your FIL must be a hoot for New Yea's Eve - booze and tripping = hil-ar-ious.

Surprised she didn't pull something - ouch!

Em (off to watch it again)

I have to admit that I like AFV. Although I watch with the sound off because the host banter is SO annoying. Just show me people falling down and get rid of the bad jokes.

Thanks for the laugh, I definitely needed that today.

Stephanie Wetzel said...

OH, I needed this. I dumped a full grande frappuccino at Starbucks today. I didn't slip and fall in it, but it did splatter all over some guy's sports coat.

Glad it happens to famous people too.

Angie's Spot said...

I must admit, Poppy & I have similar senses of humor. That Katy Perry video is VERY amusing. She just looks downright annoyed at the end there. Tee hee hee.

Shannon said...

Yep, I saw this! Laughed at it, too!

And we lurve AFV over here... me and my girls watch it every Sunday night... BEST thing is when they started showing the "honorable mentions" while the audience votes (used to they just cut to commercial)!!! Seeing the clips in slow motion and with the sound effect and music added... HILARIOUS!!!!

Vicki said...

That's funny, now who is she?

Aubrey said...

That was too funny. Thanks for the mid-week laugh! I needed that today!!

I hadn't seen this and was MISSING out. I like nothing better than a good fall. he he. I'm sadistic that way. :)

Becky said...

I heart your father-in-law!! Mike always says something is wrong with me because I laugh when he gets hurt. I swear I don't mean to...but it cracks me up.
(And AFV is my favorite freakin show!)

KatBouska said...

You should look up the one where Beyonce bites it in concert...good stuff. I mean, thank goodness she's ok...but kind of funny.

Unknown said...

Personally I got a chuckle out of the minor whiplash she got jumping on the cake....

I am so thankful that my girls ask me to change the channel when that song comes on. It's just not a conversation I want to have. As for the cake...what were they thinking? My girls would love to see this video though. They are all about the high brow entertainment that is AFV.

Have you seen the movie Idiocracy??

Carrie said...

You know it's bad when you're talking to your brother on the phone and he asks what you're doing and then replies, "Nevermind, I know you're watching AFV."

haha

I'm off to search the video because it isn't playing in your blog anymore. boooooo....

Carrie said...

oh....my....gosh!! What a train wreck that was!!

Trying to be all sexy and then just looking like a crack hoor...

I am going to think about that ALL day and laugh!
