Highlights.

Two quick things I've just gotta share with y'all...
Remember my June 15 post from a couple of weeks ago? Well, the day has arrived, Amazon has delivered, and I am mere minutes away from enjoying my very own boyfriend's latest DVD release. I am all kinds of excited and can hardly wait to behold his gorgeousness. And I hear the movie is pretty swell, too.
The Bank Job DVD Whoa...that's big. But he's a very big deal, so it's appropriate.
He could pretty much read the phone book on camera and I'd be watching in rapt attention. Jason, how I love thee.

Also, I just have to let each of you know that I fully believe y'all are the best bloggy peeps in the world. Y'all leave the best comments, send awesome e-mails, and have become bright spots in my world. I know that sounds all cheesy and Hallmark "When You Care Enough To Send The Very Best"-ish, but it's completely true. I wanna give each of you an enormous hug...and a bag of peanut M&Ms.

Here's where the world o' blogging gets really fun: while I was at the beach in late June, Mariah (known to most as "Insane Mama") and her family were gettin' their redneck family reunion on in the great state of Georgia. She mentioned a particular convenience store (or as we call 'em down south, "Quickie stores!") in one of her Twits (and why aren't y'all on our Twitter bandwagon--lots of us bloggy pals are Twitting, you know!) and I instantly knew her exact location in the mountians of my beloved home state. I twitted back with, "I SO KNOW WHERE YOU ARE! I've been there!" It is indeed a small world after all, of course.

A week later a package arrives in my mailbox, all the way from California...

I mean...come on...this ROCKED my world, y'all! I now have my very own Booger Hollow t-shirt, bought in Blairsville (where our best friends live--hey, Scott & Suzanne!), hauled on a plane to the west coast, then mailed from California. Mariah...you are so awesome! Thanks again for sending this my way--I wear it with pride. How can one not feel prideful whilst wearing "Booger Hollow" on their back? Hello, I'm Lula, I'm a redneck, and I'm living out loud!

I've said it before, I'll say it a million times more...it takes so little to make me happy. And I'm thankful for all of it, most especially YOU!. Yes, you--reading this. Y'all are highlights...which my hair needs, but that's for another post...

Well, wasn't this a pleasant surprise. I thought this was going to be about hair, too!

Nice shirt, I am surprised you haven't ripped the sleeves out of it and make it into a tank top yet. Then rip a vee in the front and eventually split it all the way down the middle and tie it up in a knot.

I am taking an online course on how the United States has many subcultures and their influences in the fashion world. Last week's topic was messenger bags, this week it is redneck fashion statements.

Okay, that t-shirt is hysterical! That was super nice of Insane Mama. It truly is a small world!

And all of us out here in blogland love you too, especially when you're being all hallmark cardy.

Yer shirt rocks! I'm with Candid Carrie though. You need to pimp it redneck style to get the full effect.

Shirts, advice on where to get your big ol lip smacker, etc. They're taking care of you!

Oh, and since you like to get things in the mail so much (and who doesn't), I'll be sending you my youngest as soon as I can poke some holes into one of these boxes the movers left.

Boy, you know how to "pick" 'em! :)

Blairsville is very close to where my parents live in Murphy, NC...

I think the thing I love the most about your man, Jason, is his accent! Yummylicious....

Ya know what, he is just HOT. I have secretly loved him for a long time and hope he gets more and more into the mainstream where everyone knows his name. He is just delicious!!!!

Well, I looked it up, and if I weren't TOTALLY DESPERATE to SEE MR.B ASAP, i would detour a smidge so that I could check this place out today. BUT... I AM dying to see him so... next time!

Oh, I love the t-shirt!

And aren't readers the best? I am not sure how I made it this far without the love.

And can I have a poor pitiful me moment? I signed up to do a swap. And I sent off my stuff. And I got nada. I must have bad gift karma. I have even done secret pal stuff at church...and I get nada.

Okay...I'm done. Whew...

I have to get one of those T-shirts before I head back to NZ. It will totally get some of the natives going and further prop up some of the misconceptions about the US!! Evil, I am. ;->

So what was the movie like? Worth getting? As I'm thinking about buying it

LULA!
Thanks and thanks! It was one of those funny moments... couldn't have happened without twitter! All I said was "I just passed a store called booger hollow" and from there... I don't know, WE BOTH HAVE BOOGER SHIRTS AND THAT IS ALL THAT MATTERS!!
Hooray for BOOGERS

Love that shirt! I am headed to the great peach state next weekend for not one, buttwo family reunions! Have I mentioned that my entire family is from GA? Except me, but I still claim it! Going to a little non-town. There seem to be a lot of those there! That is what makes GA, GA!

Lula, you are so fun and I am glad you have a new t-shirt. Wear it proudly. Isn't it nice to have readers that send you things?

Yes, bloggy friends are the best. So tonight at dinner, my husband, who is my most faithful reader says, "Now does Lula live in Virginia near us?" How funny is it that he knows the names of my bloggy friends. I then proceeded to tell him that I will be on a mission for you checking every drug store in a 15 mile radius for Dr. Pepper Lip Smackers. To which he replied "Wha?" Yeah, never mind. I'ts too hard to explain.

Love the shirt!

I've been thinking of hosting a contest for a Piggly-Wiggly tee but I don't know how many people even know what a Piggly-Wiggly store is!
