It's Fall, Y'all!

Today is the Autumnal Equinox. Or, plainly spoken, the first official day of fall, otherwise known as my most very favorite season. For many reasons:

*Georgia Bulldog football (Knowshon Moreno better win the Heisman, is all I'm sayin'!)

*Pumpkins/Pumpkin Spice lattes/Pumpkin Crisp/Pumpkin Cheesecake/Pumpkin Muffins...

*Scarlett, orange, and gold-hued trees

*Fresh apple cider, served cold or hot

*Lightweight Sweater Weather

*Friday Night Lights at the Lee High 5-Star Stadium (Go Generals!)

*Caroline's birthday, Halloween, Twilight, Thanksgiving, and my 34th birthday!

*The Lee County Tobacco Festival

*Bales of hay, multi-colored mums, gourds, pumpkins, and Indian corn, decorating
our yard.

After chopping off half my hair later on today (and going darker with my color!), the girls and I will haul out the fall decor and officially kick off the season in the Litton home. My latest autumn decorating trick comes from Tiffany. Look what she taught me to make:

Check out at my UGA-ified pumpkin! Or...is it Twilightesque? You decide.

I got all kinds of crazy on this puh-kin...3 ribbons, y'all. I have a thing for green, black and orange. And polka dots. This was supposed to be going to Libbey's teacher, but I don't think I'll part with its adorableness.

Thanks, Tiff, for giving me a project. I dig you lots, as you well know. Even when you request that I stretch deep within to pull out what little craftiness I have lurking amidst my totally uncreative genes. (Click here to see puh-kin creations from other bloggy gals.)

Finally, since I've not done a Mad Musical Monday in several weeks, I just had to share with y'all my two new musical loves:

Boyce Avenue, with their song "Find Me." After hearing just this one song I downloaded their entire "All You're Meant To Be" album off iTunes, and have been listening to it pretty much non-stop for days now.

Grace Potter and the Nocturnals, performing "Apologies," live. Their "This Is Somewhere" album is brilliant...and near-perfect. Grace is my new favorite female vocalist. Go listen. Now. Seriously. Kristen, thank you for keeping me in good music. (And in good Him.)

Happy Fall, Y'all!

Thanks for the great music suggestions! And I cannot wait to see a picture of your new 'do. Seriously. I want a picture in my in-box. Kay?

Oh, a new hair cut and color...sounds delightful! I am debating on going a bit darker for the fall, but I really love being blonde, so I don't know...

I love your fall list. October is my favorite month of the year. My wedding anniversary, my birthday, Halloween, Fall festivals at the kids' schools, chilly weather, long hikes, etc. Gotta love it.

Hey, make sure you email me your address so I can send you some birthday love, okay? And so I can mapquest our foray to Lulaville :)

BTW, when is your birthday? November?

Fall is my favorite season by far for so many of your listed reasons!

I feel we have so much Fall-stuff in common with this post.

You know I just went way short with my hair, going darker today, I spent my weekend decorating pumpkins and obviously listening to Grace Potter live. Any Live Performance rocks my world.

I feel a kindred-calling to this post! lol. : )

And of course, thanks for the shout out.

<3, Kristen

I want to see your darker color! I am thinking of going darker this winter too! A bit excited about it. Got to save some money for it though!

Love the pumpkins. They don't sell them here except right at Halloween for foreingers... ha ha, so I will need to be on the lookout!

I knew you would side with Isabel! Of course, she deserves 18 kittens. And when they all turn into cats, I am dropping them off in the Litton driveway and running the other direction. I'm sure Libbey and Caroline would love them some more kitty lovin'.

You must post pictures of your hair. I insist. And I love Fall too!!! It's my fav for sure. I haven't done my cutesy little pumpkin yet, though. Gotta do that.

Oh exciting! New Hair! I am so tempted to lop off all my hair right now (the pregnancy has my hair reaching to my shoulder blades at this point) but I've been told that you should never cut your hair when pregnant. Not because it won't grow back, but because it will just make me sad, lol.

You MUST post pics of your hair tomorrow. Cute punkins too. I'm looking forward to reading Twilight. Something about the fall makes me want to curl up outside with a cup of coffee and read, read, read.

Your pumpkins look great. I just saw that Kat did some as well.

Have you ears been buzzing this weekend? A few of your great blogging friends were talking about you to me (something about TWILIGHT! :) which reminded me to stop back by. I LOVE FALL too.

Yes, we must see pics of your hair tomorrow! How short are you going?

I loooove fall. Especially Halloween and fall festivals. My fave time of year.

And...guess when my bday is? Day before "the" movie comes out. Happy birthday me!

Ooooh - I can't wait to see your hair! You'll HAVE to post a picture.

My husband gets all giddy because sometimes IHOP does pumpkin pancakes so the only time we go there is in the fall.

LOVE LOVE *LOVE* the cute pumpkins.

Look at your cute color combos and pretty little bows. I love them. And I love Fall. And I love pumpkins. And I love cold rainy days outside and soup in the crockpot.

...I'll tell you what I don't love and that's my house filled with children that don't belong to me. Scratch that. Let's make it "my house filled with children. Period.

My girls are already crying about who gets to ride in the "black carseat" and we're not even going anywhere.

It's gonna be a fun day!!

And I'm with Heather...hair pics please.

Okay, so here I am getting ready to head out to Hobby Lobby for some ribbon. I am loving this pumpkin project. I will have to post mine after I get done. Great idea!!

Now you've got me EVEN more ready for the season! I LOVE this time of year.

Did you know Summer's first name is Scarlett! I love it!

Ummm... must see a picture of this new hair. Also, super cute pumpkins! I wish I weren't in the middle of this whole "moving" thing or I would totally get into autumn decorating :/
Meanwhile... I'm not sure if you're aware, but Ben and Jerry's recently announced that their new flavor this season is Pumpkin Cheesecake. Just thought I'd throw that out there for ya :D

I love fall too...don't you just love the smells!?

I made a pumpkin cake yesterday. From scratch. With homemade cream cheese icing. To die for.

Can't wait to see the new hair!

Yay for Fall!! I love your pumpkins. VERY crafty! I'm still giving thought to participating in Tiffany's cool decor idea. Of course, it would require me to purchase a glue gun, which might be a dangerous thing in this house. LOL! I think the girls & I are going to check out some Fall decor this afternoon. This would be the first year I've decorated. Yippee!

Keys to the Magic Travel said...

I don't do crafts. Or ribbons. Or god forbid a glue gun. But I am most happy to admire all of you doing Tiffany's preppy punkins.

And for Fall today, mother nature even gave us a hint of what's to come. High only in the low 80s today :-)

And when can we expect to see the new do??

I love fall too. I was at the farmers market yesterday and bought a bunch of little gourds. They are so cute.

Fall is THE best season. I love it for all of the reasons you listed and a couple more. I love the smell of the air. That sort of crisp smell that you only get on cool early fall days. Plus, the smell from chimneys. Oh my, that puts me in a good place. Your pumpkins look great. I plan to hit the store today and get a couple to decorate a la Tiffany.

Can't wait to see the new hair, how exciting!!

I'm so ready for fall too! Not sure when we'll begin feeling the cooler temps though. Until then I can't really get into the spirit. I have started fall clothes shopping though and you're right, this is going to be a Sweater Fall. I'm waiting to do Tiffany's pumpkins until it turns chillier...and until I see real pumpkins for sale around here...

Love the music .. and love the 'puh-kins' .. ah-dorable! I've toyed with the idea of making my own, but I keep thinking about what they are gonna look like, all rotten and smooshy, with their ribbons .. and it makes me sad. I'll just enjoy the pictures of yours, thanks :o)

I was so excited to dig my long sleeved shirts and sweatshirts out! Yay! And I'm looking foward to seeing your hair!

Oh, and before I forget .. my hubs looked at the pictures of our daughter rockin' the 80's hair and he says, "She looks like she just got off set at the Physical video shoot!" .. he's older than me ;o)

From one dawgs fan to another, I love your UGA pumpkin!

I have now returned from Hobby Lobby with ribbon. I now just need a silent prayer that I can make a half decent bow.

Trish said...

Ah yes, fall. The beginning of the rainy season that does not end until next june here.

Not really my favorite because of the rain, but when we do get those sunny, cold, crisp autumn days here they are FAB!!

Oh, I can think of two thing that I love about fall here in the great NW: Burgerville Pumpkin milkshakes and sweet potatoe fries!! Seriously delish, and if there was anyway i could order them from Amazon and have them on your doorstep tomorrow, you know I would!

Look at you, Miss Idonthaveacreativeboneinmybody! Those are SO cute! I have not even acknowledged fall yet, as we are having some beautiful weather up here in the north, and savoring every minute that we can possibly pretend it's still summer. You have to store it up so that in April you can endure the final backlashes of winter. (But I have used up a bottle of pumpkin spice creamer already!)

Anyway, you stopped by for my SITS day at The Journey a while back, and I'm still wandering about peeking in on everyone who came. All of the amazing blogs have been too interesting to hurry through, but I did want to say thanks!

oh fellow egless mcmuffin lover--your fall mentionings have made me smile :). I substituted Boise State University for the Georgia Bulldogs, but all the rest of it sounds heavenly....

I feel like there is this big secret between us....hmmmmm....what could it be?!

I am soooo happy it is fall. It is my favorite season. Our pumpkins aren't quite ready yet, but when they are, I am sooooo decorating them like this.

So... I was thinking about you, because my post for tomorrow has to do with Stephenie Meyer. Stop by and check it out. :)

Sam Bradford for Heisman!

Pardon me, that wasn't really in the spirit of bloggy togetherness. =)

This is actually the first time I've seen fall things this year and not cringed. I love summer, but this year I'm hanging on to it mighty hard. Maybe it has something to do with fear of growing up (this, my last semester as a student)?

Thanks for the tips on the GREAT music and adorable punkins. :P
I adore FALL too. Crispy, electric, sweatshirt weather. It just energizes the soul, I tell ya.
Here in GA it's getting a teensy bit cooler. Yeah!

I love, love, love the Fall too.

Falling leaves, pumpkin carving, costume wearing, football going and the start of the holiday season. Yum!

Also, most of my family's birthdays are in October, November and December.
